I don't know about the resemblance. I just think it is a very classy looking arena, and I can't wait to attend a basketball Billiken basketball game there. I'm sure that someone will purchase the naming rights to the building even if A-B doesn't.

The PD has not had an outstanding college basketball writer since Dave Dorr. They just don't have anyone interested in college basketball unless the story is handed to them on a silver platter...err...unless they are investigating the U to the West of us.

Fredo, The Billikens never played in Kiel Opera House. It was a venue strictly for smaller concerts, ballets, Broadway shows, and the former (before Powell Hall) home of the St. Louis Symphony. In the 80's SLU did play in the old Kiel Auditorium.

I don't think that Athlon is regarded as one of the premier sources for preseason college basketball information. Having said that, the Billikens won't be highly regarded by any of the preseason pundits. I think this will be an interesting year to follow the team, but I am really viewing next year as our breakthrough season. Any postseason this year will be a bonus.

This is pretty much the way that I stated Claiborne left SLU at broadcaster in my previous post. I did not infer that he was canned but left on his own...at least kinda did.

Mike used to do the color for the Billikens but if memory serves me, he had to leave the broadcast booth because he was Bonner's agent and there was a conflict of interest problem.

Gee, I was not aware that she has her own radio program...I thought she was honestly answering questions posed by a couple DJ's from a St. Louis radio station on Kurt's hope for the future. Obviously, neither KW or Brenda think that he is washed up and there is much differing opinion on the subject from the Rams fans. Frankly, I still believe that we will see Kurt on the playing field before the year is up, as Bulger hasn't shown that he can hold up over an entire NFL season yet.

I would appreciate it if anyone getting to the bookstore soon could pass the online URL to us out of town fans. I could use some new Billiken gear. Just bought some UT Vols gear at a local mall store in Tampa, but they don't carry many schools outside of the Florida colleges.

Nark, Thanks for the heads up on another moron slamming SLU. You'd hope that Ramsey has more sense than to go on the A-10 website and diss the Billikens. The information this person cited was bogus and thanks for setting those people straight.

I don't think anyone will argue the point that the MVC is a nice mid major basketball league and has a secure place among mid majors. SLU has long since passed the desire to be a mid major and that is a major reason why I believe the Billikens will be playing in the A-10 if CUSA does implode due to anticipated defections to the Big Least.

Glad to hear Rammer explained where he stands today. I think that he has done a good job on Billiken basketball, but I don't know that he has any strong feelings towards the program. My feelings are as stated last week...SLU is a paycheck for him.

Shesh...I'm not going to get all riled up about any the sky is falling conspiracy theories about what may or may not happen with our basketball future...what St. Louis has is basically a lazy and p!ss poor media. I have every confidence that we will land on our feet when all this conference shuffling is final, and there has been nothing concrete to indicate that the arena won't be a reality in due time.

I saw that Arse beating that we administered to the Trojan's in Spoon's 1st year. It kind of gave us and indication that the Bills were on their way to becoming a good team...next year they were ranked and went to the Big Dance.

I don't know about that as we have gotten home and home with the likes of KU and the Illini in the past. I don't think your argument would hold water.

I would also not put the Cornhuskers of last year in a quality win status...hells bells...I even saw USF handle the Huskers last year.

IMHO all SLU is to Ramsey is a freakin pay check and nothing more.
