  1. Rasheed did not play his senior year due to some type of genetic heart defect. Teaches school in Houston Texas.
  2. For all of you NBA fans out there-Larry vs. Tim Duncan-TNT 7.pm
  3. It's not the same thing as leadership, but I would be shocked if we don't run a clearout for Tommie at the end of a half or game.
  4. Sounds like'"you better eat your brussel sprouts or you'll get no dessert" to me.
  5. Is he outplaying everyone because he knows the system and they don't,or has he elevated his game? Time will tell but I'd bet on the former. My quess is they will catch up and pass him by. It's hard to play a guard who's slow and can't shoot.
  6. I for one think it's great if Danny Brown wins a starting job. That means we will be even better than I thought. We know that Kevin-Tommie-and Dwayne are good players,so if Danny beats one of them out of a starting job that means we're even better than expected. I still find it hard to believe that Dreja can keep a starting job past the first few games. If he can keep the job then all power to him.
  7. I agree about him getting minuets. We will sink or swim with him so put him out there and leave him out there. If by January he can't hack it go to plan B,whatever that may be.
  8. It still doesn't change the fact that he'll have to play the 4 if JJ doesn't. As stated earlier neither guy has post up skills. Our postup play will come from Ian,Bryce, and maybe Tommie. For what it's worth JJ shot the ball very well from the 12 foot range.
  9. I went to a scrimage last Sat. Vashun played the 4 and guarded JJ.
  10. I was at practice on Sat. where a full refereed scrimage was held. I thought Kevin's defense was spectacular. For the most part he was matched up on Tommie. Tommie had a hard time scoring and could only get long jump shots.{which he didn't shoot very well} Whenever Dreja guarded Tommie,Tommie took him to the hole and scored immediately. Kevin shot the ball very well makeing almost every open shot he took .One practice does not a season make but I was very impressed. Ian was dominate and I liked Husack. I think Husack he will be a very good backup center. He scored very will with little hooks when he got the ball on the low post.
  11. While Breckenridge was able to complete the Sheraton-Edison project his track record is mixed at best. I'll believe it when I see it.
  12. "You get what you pay for". Thats the motto of the federal goverment.
  13. Hey Bum if you know the weekly practice schedule could you put it on the board. Thanks in advance.
  14. I hope you answered your own question. I'm sure Anthony will get major time at the beginning of the year, but if Tommie and Kevin are as good as we think -I think you perfectly described how Anthony will be used. I believe Dreja's playing time will be a measure of our success. If he plays alot we won't be very good because that means our young players weren't good enough to bench him. If he plays a little that means we'll be pretty good.
  15. I think thats easy. Ian gets the rebound-outlets to Polk-who feeds Tommie for the dunk. If no shot is available Ian walks up the court takes a low post position and is fed the ball 15 seconds into the shot clock. The Lakers didn't need shack to run the floor to score in transition. I don't see any contridiction in the two.
  16. I listen to these guys every day during my drive time. The chemistrey between these 2 is terible. They both try to dominate the mike and are continually walking over each other. While I don't like Claybourne he could stay in the background untill Slaten would get through with his pontifications and then respond. I also agree with Roy, I would be shocked if they are still together next year. I can see Slaten working with a lesser personality like Chops Ritter. Somebody to play off of, but not an equal.
  17. You guys need to go to more Billiken Club meetings. Cheryl said the new arena would have a --state of the art-- training facility that would be used by all sports. It would also house a sports medicine facility. She and Brad seemed very pleased with these plans.
  18. AJ I don't think you are correct about the weight training/sports medicine facility. At the same tip-off meeting 2 weeks ago Cheryl said that a state of the art training facility/sports medicine facility was part of the arena. I don't believe this has ever been in question.
  19. Roy all I can tell you is she said in direct response to a question that coaches offices were not in the arena's current plans. I can also tell you the Billiken club board of directors are trying to lobby Biondi to include them. So far he has resisted.
  20. Thats not what Cheryl said at the last meeting. Currently coaches offices are not in the arena.
  21. At the last tip-off meeting Cheryl said the arena did not have offices but she was still trying to push for them. Does anyone know who is responsible for the design. Is it a committee? Is it the provost Wexler? Does it go all the way to Biondi? I know the board will have to sign off on it but who recommends it to them.
  22. Charter will do Tv. 590 is radio. ESPN has the A-10 contract and we won't be on till we win.
  23. Easi is being bought by another company for 43+. Shanahan has a lot more money then he had. Maybe he will bump his $1 mil. contribution to the arena.
