If the team didn’t have such experienced assistants ready to take over in Jim Crews and Jim Whitesell (700-plus combined wins as head coaches), I’d be more worried. I actually was talking to someone who is good friends with Whitesell a few weeks ago. He didn't seem too sad that it didn't work out for SLU.
