kevinfootes
How many more years will we have to listen to his nonsense? The man has no talent, no knowledge of the game, and is unprofessional with his studpid, morning-drive humor. People complain about the makeup of SLU crowds being old, boring people and not enough students. Maybe they should dump the guy from the old, boring, adult-garbage music station and find somebody who is either more professional or more appealing to a younger crowd. Why not John Ulett? Why not one of the sports station guys? Why not somebody from off the streets?
Box and Won
They had a guy fill in for Guy at the Charlotte game, who I thought did a great job, at least as far as enthusiasm and energy goes. With a little more experience, he could probably be pretty good.
Billiken Rich
If he or she throws some money at the right folks I'm sure we could get a decent PA announcer. Maybe he'll do us all a favor and drop an N-bomb on the air and we can fire his sorry booty.......
Box and Won
I think she's actually focused this year's donations on purchasing pants and overcoats for the Baby Blues/Dance Team to wear during their performances. They show way too much skin, you know.
Billiken Rich
Not to be too mean but in a couple of cases, I'd agree with her.....
Box and Won
Yeah, but you take the good with the bad. I generally focus in on a few of them, ignoring the rest.
Billiken Rich
Indeed. Sadly they all graduate eventually.

billiken_roy
i would suggest finding a dj at one of the younger target radio stations that might actually know a little about basketball. maybe that gets the kids fired up. guy would have fit that description (assuming he forgot something about basketball since) about 30 years ago. now i doubt anyone under 40 much listens to ky98. bonwich
> Why not John Ulett? I'll be on his show tomorrow morning in the 8 o'clock hour. I'll see if I can slip it in. (If not, I'm sure B-Roy will remind me just how many times I've been on that show without exhibiting my Billiken pride .)
billiken_roy
i am not sure how much ulett knows about basketball, but he is such a pro he would probably make the effort to learn what he had to. i havent been listening to jc as much lately. when he gets on his democrat roll, i turn him off. and lately that has been a lot. SLURadioBoy
Hey, I'll be more than happy to be the PA guy at Bills games. Would anyone write me a letter of recommendation? Afterall, I am looking for a job in goold ol' Stl and I love the Billikens! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. lloyddobbler
I just graduated two years ago and I think Guy is hilarious. His comments crack me up. Many of my "younger" friends enjoy him as well. We need a more exciting (win some games!!) team to bring in the students, not a more exciting announcer. Btw, my favorite Guy comments come when he is announcing the elementary school games at halftime. Good stuff. p.s. The word is that the band is slimming back in membership this year. Billiken Rich
If he was making fun of my kid that way, I'd have words with him after the game. It's funny if you don't care about the kids. Laugh it up......
kevinfootes
He's so quick to cirticize, let's see Guy make a foul shot. When he looks like a complete moron doing it we can have some other geek making fun of him from the sidelines.

guest
Or make his run across the arena for a sandwich. Would Guy even make it up the steps? Yet alone in the time allowed.

Scoop
Guy does a fine job adding much needed wit to some slow games. Like him or not, he is a STL celeberty. I love the U-man, but I don't think "Billiken nation" is in a situation to be picky. Be glad we have him.
