bonwich
Clearly, he's as tense about the whole thing as we all are. A cautionary tale about drinking like a Billikens fan, but it also shows that he's one of us, even when he's in L.A. http://cnn.it/1IaElYZ
billikenbill
Latest from Harry Giles has me stressing saying there's a "good chance, a really good chance" that he, Tatum, and Josh Jackson are a package deal somewhere. In that case, we're not in the mix for JT. 3star_recruit
Giles has been pushing the idea of a package deal since last year. Dennis Smith has always been the third member of the trio. But Smith isn't playing with the guys on the U19 team so I guess that doesn't fit the author's narrative.

Do you view it as really important that you and Harry have a lot of dialogue leading up to your decision? I’ll probably decide first for sure, but I’ll definitely keep in touch with Harry. We have to do what’s best for us first and if that’s playing together at a school, then we know that’ll be the right decision. We don’t try to tell each other what school to go to, we just look at what schools we both like and then go from there.

Not long ago I read that there was some stench around the Smith recruitment, but don't remember what exactly it was. Maybe he has people close to him pushing him to NC State (maybe $ or Adidas who knows) and other factors became more important than trying to play with Giles and Tatum. A package of Giles, Jackson, and Tatum would be ridiculous. I didn't realize this was a possibility or that Duke was a major player for Jackson. Dennis Smith committed to NC State the other day, so the original package deal broke down which it sounded like was happening over the summer with Smith being pulled to NC State. Duke got a commitment from top #15 recruit and 5-star pg Frank Jackson the other week, so I assume they had already moved on. I read an article about the pull that the shoe companies have in the recruiting process with most college coaches believing they lost a recruit due to a shoe company. Apparently Under Armour is thought to be the most aggressive currently as they are the new kid on the block with Adidas thought to deliver players to Adidas programs too (I am sure Nike as well, but there are so many Nike school). Diamond Stone (Maryland) on paper would appear to be an obvious example of that and if Maryland is able to get Josh Jackson, there would seem to be no question how he ended up there. It sounds like it becomes known which players may be influenced by a shoe company and that can lead to coaches/programs with a different shoe contract no longer recruiting the kid. It sure would be nice to have top recruits pushed to your school.

Do AAU coaches get paid?

Do AAU coaches get paid? it's pretty simple, really.
