pjjack Posted March 4, 2014 Share Posted March 4, 2014 The UMass-VCU game did sell-out earlier but that game was on a Friday night and it was VCU's first ever game at UMass. But it didn't matter who Umass was playing that night the game would have sold-out. Weekend games almost always have strong sales. But any Umass fan (like me) will agree the St. Louis game is a much bigger game than VCU. St. Louis is ranked and has been one of the best teams in the country all season. VCU plays a gimmick style of play that gets people excited to see them the first time but beyond all that A&B's they do on defense they don't have much else. You break their press a few times they are a lost team. They also are a poor team away from home.. St. Louis vs. Umass in Amherst is always an exciting game and a game fans look forward to every year. I can tell you this, we are all looking forward to seeing Jett in person again, two year's again when St. Louis last visited he was coming off the bench but now he is one of the best in the country. It was also the weekend the students returned from winter break. Sort of the perfect storm. The game didn't sell out until the day of.
