billiken_roy
welcome to the board orlando. i still remember what might have been one of the most incredible moves in memory you had in a late nite game vs siu at the old keil where you drove the lane and then did a behind the back to yourself flip kind of thing and scored on the left side of the basket. incredible. of course you disappeared shortly after that until you suddenly show up today. where you been? CentFLBilliken
I liked when you punched John Duff in the face for "guarding" you in practice, walked out of the gym, walked out of school, and disappeared off the face of the earth

choice
it's nice to see that the prison systems have computers for their residents to keep up with billiken basketball.
billiken_roy
wow only 5 posters predicted less wins than me and two of them arent even billiken fans. whatever happened to the good ole days where i was the only hopeless homer.
OrlandoStewart
I left shortly after that. Cant really say why, causse I might get someone in trouble. I loved slu but if I stayed there the program would of got in alot of trouble for what I did and how they were involved
Tonka
I think you'll see that there is a lot of optimism here for the men's basketball teamn here. Women's basketball - oh, that's right we have a team. Just like the soccer team, I hope they do well, but I can't say I'd follow it enough to know. StlCardinal
Would someone care to fill us younger fans in about who this new poster is and/or what he did? I gather he is a former player and had some sort of incident, but I don't remember ever hearing about him. Thanks.
Billiken Rich
Gregory not getting the nod? I'm on the Brad bandwagon big time! (though I think the 20 wins and over crowd all a little nuts)
billiken_roy
he was a point guard in the late 80's. had some skills. but mysteriously disappeared from the team and the campus. i dont know the story about what specific trouble he got into. Tonka
he was another one that just didn't work out...he grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky and was a great player in high school. I think he was relatively highly regarded coming into SLU. He was quick and could move the ball well. I think he played on the Kevin Footes, Carlos Skinner, Melvin Robinson team. Travis Tadysak and Jeff Gaona were also on that team if I remember correctly.
thetorch
If I remember correctly Orlando sucker punched John Duff and took off running out of the gym and was never heard from since. Maybe he finally stopped running and decide to post on the board and see how things are doing at his old school.
Quality Is Job 1
Anthony Bonner told Reggie Bryant, Darren Clarke, Anthony Drejaj, and me that Orlando Stewart sucker punched (don't remember which player) when no coaches were around. Then, when Coach Grawer inquired to find out what happened, Stewart punched the guy in the face again, right in front of the coaches. It's the thugish, ruggish.... CentFLBilliken
John Duff was the guy. The "left handed Gun" from Washington, MIssouri.
Tonka
It was John Duff. Orlando was friends with one of my roomamtes back in college, so I got to experience "The Big O" first hand. I think we all of 5'2". I've got some funny stories about him.
CentFLBilliken
Please tell!!! Wasnt he run off from Virginia Commonwealth after getting into a scrape with the coaching staff? He was very talented though. Oddly enough, he beat Xavier with a couple of long 3-point bombs one year.
StlCardinal
Thanks for the info. That's an interesting story. It's a shame that someone with such talent let it go to waste. I hope at least that Orlando has gotten his life back on track now.
