davidnark
Read the official statement. This appears to be the first step in the university upgrading its commitment to big-time basketball.
brianstl
The timing is terrible. I believe someone is already lined up for the job. If not this maybe the dumbest move ever by the administration.
Billikan
I am amazed and perplexed. This had to be 100% related to the fear that the new arena is almost finished and we did not make the NCAA tournament. If we do not have a big time coach already lined up to take this job then this may have been one of the dumbest moves in the history of Billiken basketball. The coaching musical chairs has been going on for a month. Every decent coach in the country has been wooed, dined and fawned over.
Billiken Rich
attractive than when Brad was hired but It's got to be a quick and good hire or we're goin top be in worse shape.
billiken_roy
i will be surprised if a coach is announced in the next 24 hours simply because i am convinced that cheryl levick was not in on this move it is bad enough they fired a coach without her input it would be worse if they also hired the replacement without her input. moytoy12
to be a move with a larger commitment to the men's basketball program, but the timing is suspect at best and horrible at worst. For the time being, i will put some faith in the powers that be that they did their due diligence prior to this move. With the boosters raising money, it seems this had to be in the works for some time. I hope during that time, CL and Biondi collaborated and came up with an effective plan and strategy to implement this change. If this was done without any real planning...oh boy... i'll take a wait and see approach...
