biggdadiek
On the channel five news they did a story on the McCluer North basketball team...they asked John what he thought about SLU and he said something to the effect of...SLU has a great program, I really like Soderberg he is a nice guy and I really like their coaching staff... so that is some good news for recruiting... Milwaukee Billiken
Sounds like your typical "not gonna say anything" interview.
SShoe
It lasted about 2 seconds so don't take too much stock into anything he said or didn't say. If anything, it was on the positive side.
slu72
Can't be that great...he hasn't signed. I know that's negative, but his teammates committed and he hasn't.....
VTIME
First of all, I'd like to commend your dedication. Posting at 2:51 AM. Wow!. Secondly, I think John is likely to come to SLU. They offered him EARLY in his junior season. The fact that it has been said that Roundtree wanted Booker and Perry to join him at SIU and not John has to carry some weight. He fits the system. He knows he's not a high-major prospect, values education (3.8 GPA) etc.
SShoe
>Can't be that great...he hasn't signed. I know that's >negative, but his teammates committed and he hasn't..... Is that sarcasm, because I don't see what that has to do with anything. He's in his junior year right now. Unless he's ready to jump the gun, why would he commit? brianstl
It is the whine, whine, and whine all of the time.
VTIME
A lot of schools have early commits. So far that's three 08 prospects who have committed. Waller, Roundtree, and Booker.
SShoe
Sure, but that's not the norm.
VTIME
Polk committed April of his junior year, Booker and John committed in February. Not really a big difference.
Box and Won
I guess in a case like the 08 class - where there's so much talent out there - it makes more sense for players to commit early.
ACE
Can somebody who has seen him play provide a report?
VTIME
On Femi. 6'3 maybe 6'4 guard. Excellent midrange shooter. Big, physical, and strong. About a notch below Roundtree athletically.
VTIME
>I guess in a case like the 08 class - where there's so much >talent out there - it makes more sense for players to commit >early. makes sense to me.
brianstl
I think John is better than Perry. It is not a big gap either way in my opinion. Just my opinion thou.
SShoe
Again, you're taking a few specifics and suggesting that's the norm. Orals usually happen during the summer or early fall of their senior year. It can happen and obviously does happen, but that doesn't mean there's something wrong with John because he hasn't done it yet.
VTIME
>I think John is better than Perry. It is not a big gap >either way in my opinion. Just my opinion thou. Perry is taller, the better ball handler etc. All John has on Perry is better shooting.
p diddy
bruce weber has also taken a fancy to femi john. he has been to north to watch him play twice. bad boyz for life
brianstl
Good shooters are one of the toughest things to find in basketball. Good shooters that can hit from 15-20 are even harder to find. What I am trying to say is that a good mid-range game is a very good skill to have.
cheeseman
While it would be nice to have early commits now - many were questioning why Roundtree committed so early. So, why question why John has not.
StLouBlue
Does a little shorter but more built version of Luke Meyer in high school sound about right? I remember LM was describe as a good mid-range player when he signed.
VTIME
>While it would be nice to have early commits now - many were >questioning why Roundtree committed so early. So, why >question why John has not. Why wouldnt he commit to a top 25 team that's local early. What is their to wait on?
VTIME
No, John can jump. He can really jump. He's not Roundtree, but he's not that far off athleticism wise. He's also really solidly built maybe between 190 and 200lbs.
VTIME
> > bruce weber has also taken a fancy to femi john. he has >been to north to watch him play twice. > >bad boyz for life He's got to improve his ballhandling a LOT before I think Weber would ever offer. What did Weber think of Roundtree and Booker.
brianstl
According to Frank C, you are wrong. They are after him hard right now.
