  1. just got back to my computer...apologies for the late post but..... towel me!!!!
  2. I'm not saying it would be easy, but I think the athletic department could make it happen.
  3. Considering SLU tuition is $50,000, I assume that adding 75-90 players without athletic scholarships would pay for the program by itself.
  4. @4thgenBill I'm not an expert with Title IX, but the Pioneer League only has programs that don't provide scholarships which I assume means SLU could give more women the opportunity to play sports in college without scholarships.
  5. As new as I am to this board, I assume this topic has been brought up before. I fantasize regularly about SLU starting a football program again. I can't think of a single reason why Saint Louis University, the first program to have the forward pass, shouldn't be involved with football. After a quick internet search (always the #1 tool for knowledge) I have gathered that Pioneer League (non scholarship D1 FCS) program spends roughly $1M-$1.5M per year on a football program. This is definitely within SLU's reach. While I know this probably won't happen in my lifetime (without a powerball win from your's truly), I hope Saint Louis University can find a way to embrace their past in today's #1 sport.
  6. Trevon Brazile, probably Mizzou's brightest future star, just transferred and committed to Arkansas. I for one will pour out a beer for our brethren in Columbia, SIKE. MIZ-SUX
  7. Kalkbrenner just went down with a knee injury. #Sad
  8. This is a trend the last couple season that continues to plague SLU. Ford is 30-41 (42%) against teams that ended the season with a winning record since 2018. When the other team is not good or great, just decent, we struggle. I don't know if it's talent, if it's coaching, if it's the team meal, but something needs to be fixed. Now time for another beer.
  9. Cade McKnight from Truman would be the most similar to Kalkbrenner in the D2 portal right now. He's a big bodied stretch 5 that was the conference player of the year in 2021 and put up better stats this season, 19ppg/6rpg. He's a grad transfer with a lot of experience that could help cover the hole left by ML.
  10. Nesbitt reminds me of Charlie Brown Jr. from St. Joe's a couple years back. Next level potential.
  11. Just secured my first year of season tickets for the billikens. While it sucks that Javonte lost this year to injury, I was a billikens fan before, and will be a billikens fan after. THIS WILL BE A GREAT YEAR FOR BILLIKEN BASKETBALL!
  12. Sloan talked about his dislike of the A-10 with the difficulty in recruiting top end talent to the league like we did in the C-USA days and the lack of SOS. Would leaving the A-10 for a conference like the AAC (a lot of old C-USA teams) help us reach those prospects that we currently can't and give us some more OOC breathing room for possible NCAA at-large berths?
  13. I don't know if this is my youth talking, but Javonte is the best NBA prospect that SLU has had since 2000 and it's not even close. Kid is the truth.
  14. I think the only issue with BMB would be that he would end up being the same class and JB and MD. Do we want 3 centers in the same class?
  15. I truly don't think there is a comp for JG. Honestly such a unicorn when it comes to 6'3 players. I think the Marcus Smart comp is worn out but probably the best just by body type and demeanor.
  16. purely favorite players, Mitchell, Jett, Goodwin, Glaze, Ellis.
  17. Aaron Falzon a 6'8 stretch 4 from Northwestern wouldn't be a bad option, 31.7% 3pt shooter. Another would be Haanif Cheatham from Florida Gulf Coast, former 4 star recruit SG/SF who scored 13 ppg last season. Both eligible immediately.
  18. Goodnews played with Grassroots Sizzle this past year and averaged 11.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 2.0 apg, along with also grabbing 1.9 steals. He didn't shoot it at a great clip (40.3% from the field and 25% from 3) and his handles look a little loose for a 2 guard, but his defensive potential and athleticism are undeniable. Around this time last year he only had junior college offers so his game has grown over the past year. With his size and athleticism he could be an All A-10 Defensive Teamer if he continues to develop. Solid offer talent wise in my opinion by Ford, not 100% sure where he would fit in on the team with guards like Thatch and Ingvi at the same position.
