  1. To Katherine Weathers, Anne Kratky, Michelle Lewis, Fred Pestello, Troy Turnipseed, and Whomever Else It May Concern:

Feminism is defined as "the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes." This noble movement was inspired by the courageous acts of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and the countless suffragettes who stood up to the patriarchy and demanded that women be granted the right to vote in the name of equality. Espousing the same courage and bravery displayed by pioneers of the feminist movement, countless women have worked tirelessly over the past century to ensure that women are viewed as equal to their male counterparts in all aspects of life.

As leaders of a well-known Jesuit university, you are in a unique position to positively and constructively advance the feminist movement so that future generations of women can truly be viewed as equal to their male counterparts. Due to your cowardice and lack of integrity, you have failed to seize this opportunity by succumbing to a vocal minority of vengeful individuals hellbent on advancing a misguided political agenda.

You are fostering an egregious bastardization of the feminist movement. By turning a blind eye to truth, justice, and due process, you are ensuring that those women who have truly been aggrieved by a system that you so openly loath will continue to struggle to have their voices heard.

Three females meticulously orchestrated an orgy that would make the likes of Ron Jeremy and Bill Clinton blush. They used their sexuality to exploit the curiosity of innocent young men for physical gratification. When at least one of the women began to regret her decision, her family chose to exploit their socioeconomic advantages to protect their reputation at the expense of these innocent African-American men.

Today, we heard from one of the young women who organized this consensual sexual encounter. At no point did she assert that this encounter was anything but consensual. At no point did she refute the fact that this entire incident was instigated by her and her friends. Her only complaint is that embarrassing photos or videos were taken. The young woman was aware that these photos or videos were taken, and she apparently did not overtly object to the photos or videos being taken. Despite all this, this "survivor" of a regrettable and unfortunate decision continues to falsely accuse these young men of sexual assault.

Despite what you may believe, your mistreatment of these innocent young African-American men does not help advance the feminist cause. In fact, these punishments are in direct conflict with the idea that feminism is truly the "advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes." There is no equality in your decision. The women orchestrated this event. The women willingly participated in this event. The women knowingly allowed pictures or videos to be taken during the event. Yet, only the men were punished by your biased process. How does this promote equality of the sexes?

Alas, there is still time to remedy this decision and restore my faith in my alma mater. This is about doing what is right. This is about truth and justice. The futures of these innocent young men hang in the balance. As we learned in the gospel of John, "the truth shall set [them] free."

Pestello.... if you are reading this..... not that you would slum it anyway..... but id advise not coming near sec 219 today

If the coward shows up, he'll make a brief cameo for a cute photo-up in the student section. Once somebody mentions S2 he will promptly leave and then sneak into courtside seats hoping that he will find friends. Unfortunately for Fred, he has no friends because people like people with a backbone. Fred has the backbone of an overstuffed burrito supreme from Taco Bell. As soon as he feels triggered, he will log onto the internet to access the survey in order to press the "I feel triggered button." Alas, the survey was taken down. Fred will be scared, triggered, and lost. He will then retreat to his safe space in a box where he will cry on Fran's shoulder. #FireFred

  3. A couple possibilities here:

    1) Too many students reported being triggered causing a collection of melting snowflakes to gather at the Clock Tower for a cry in.

    2) Approximately 3 students were brave enough to risk a triggering event to spend the time to complete the ridiculously long survey. All students were Federal Work Study employees of Crooked Kratky and Deplorable Weathers. They can now report that 100% of those students who responded to the survey want to expel the players.

    3) Too many people responded with answers critical of the "gold standard."

    4) Too many people supported the basketball players in the comment section.

    5) They realized too many non-students took the survey rendering the results useless. However, they can't figure out a way to prevent this as there is they certainly can't have an anonymous survey and then ask for your Banner ID in order to complete the survey.

SLU administration is embarrassing. At this point, I love it. #FireFred #FreeThe3

i don't want possible rapists on SLU's team,,,if the kids would have been closer with these girls and not just trying to hook up this would never have happened,,, and the fact it was possibly filmed makes me want to vomit all over myself....

based on,,, what you said,,,and how you punctuate,,, your sentences,,,, perhaps you are,,, too illiterate to understand,,, the facts in this case,,,, maybe if you could understand,,, then slu's,,,, reprehensible behavior,,, would make you vomit.

And IF it was all consensual, shouldn’t the females who filed a false police report suffer repercussions? How is falsely accusing someone of tape not against student policy?

How about if it was consensual, then didn't the girls break the same exact conduct rules?

Can someone link to the post from Santos’ girlfriend?

If you go to Page 227 on the thread titled "Fall 2017 Allegations" you will see them . The first said, "In this day and age, women cry rape as a way to not feel shamed about the hoe activities they partake in. #StopCryingRape #FreeTheThree #SLU." There was then a follow-up one that I cannot find anymore that basically said if you are a student athlete at SLU you may want to reconsider where you go to school based on how they've been treated.

From what I have heard the fourth is not one that has been playing but the one who got the lesser of the suspensions.. Now you have to connect a few dots to figure this out so I am not 100% sure but I think this more right then wrong.

What are you trying to say? Without question, the three players who have not been in the arena during games are involved. Are you trying to say that the fourth player is not one of the eight that are playing (i.e., the fourth player is not JG)? Are you implying that the fourth player is one of the following: Welmer, Santos, or Raboin. Does this mean that there was something more to the tweets by what appeared to be Santos' girlfriend?

At this point I have no idea what to believe, and the optimist in me continues struggle with the realist in me. However, I sure hope that if you are implying JG is not involved that you are correct. It's hard to rationalize what is going on because it is impossible to rationalize with irrational people. Regardless of who is involved, however, there is no question that this whole process was a sham. Administration at SLU needs to be completely overhauled. The "gold standard" needs to be publicly scrutinized for its inherent biases towards not only men, but black men in particular. Hopefully, the Board of Trustees and those few people in the administration with common sense (if there are any left) realize the miscarriage of justice that occurred here. They can never reverse the damage already done to these young men, but they sure can prevent any further damage from being done.

  8. As I posted in the other thread:

What an absolute joke. This decision was a political statement by a politically motivated biased hearing officer who is still throwing a temper tantrum at the result of the 2016 election. The boys just happened to be collateral in what she perceives to be her duty to somehow "change the world." In addition to a lawsuit, I now hope the Feds absolutely destroy SLU. Unbelievable.

If this is her idea of justice, then she has no business putting the letters "J.D." after her name. If Katherine Weathers wants to meltdown like the rest of the snowflakes then do so in ways that do not jeopardize the future of innocent young men. This is amazingly "deplorable."

Oh my god. I believe this to be The Katherine Weathers that was just named as the hearing officer.

  10. If he's not a Rosenblum guy and reports are correct JG was expelled yesterday. I'd like to think SLU isn't stupid enough to let a guy who got expelled play today (regardless of the appeals issue).

If he is a Rosenblum guy, then you would think Rosenblum would have said I already appealed on behalf of one player. If he has not yet appealed, I again hope SLU isn't stupid enough to let him play.

The optimist in me wants to believe perhaps JG is somehow goint to make it through this. The realist in me believes this is just another example of SLU being incompetent.

I think a lot of people here believe the athletics, particularly the basketball program, is the most important part of the University. A lot of people think that basketball is necessary for the University to attract well qualified students and increase its image and endowment. You can interpret the decision made public yesterday as a confirmation that from the point of view of the University, the athletics, particularly the basketball program, is NOT the most important part of the University. Other things are more important than basketball and athletics.

And this is why the University's reputation will continue to plummet. Programs were cut and faculty laid off. The Medical School is on probation. The Law School is a mess. The impact of a national renowned athletic program cannot be understated. SLU will never reach its potential as a University until they realize that athletics matter. If high schoolers see a raucous Chaifetz Arena on national TV, they will be more inclined to apply to SLU. If more students apply to SLU, SLU can be more selective. If SLU is more selective, the academic profile of the school will increase.

Everything is connected. We are not and never will be looked at in the same academic light as Wash U or Duke or Harvard. Let's stop pretending that SLU is the pinnacle of academia.

That isn’t going to send any sort of message... are you serious?  A message would be literally be all the players walking off the court and forfeiting. I almost wish they would do that.

I'd love for all of them to come out and place the jerseys of their fallen teammates on the bench, then walk off the court in protest. That would send a message.

I’m pretty sure Goodwin is going to play through the appeals process. Why wouldn’t he?  He’s already used his eligibility.

But why would Goodwin be allowed to travel during the appeals process while the others suddenly aren't? Was he kicked off campus yesterday like the others? Seems unlikely at this point. He's still all over SLU AD's official website. Why has he been treated differently all along? None of this makes any sense.

What is happening?!?! Was Goodwin actually a Rosenblum 3 as speculated? Was he Rogers' client? Maybe he was Rogers' client and Rosenblum truly has no clue what sanctions he received? Did we falsely assume the 4th accused individual was a basketball player? So many questions now. There has to be something we don't know about the situation as it pertains to Goodwin. School didn't impose an interim suspension on him. I've heard from several people he never got moved off campus. He was sent to the Spirit Week event to represent the team. He is the only one allegedly involved still allowed to travel and play. It makes absolutely no sense. There is no way a guy who was expelled or suspended pending an appeal would go back out there today. This is so bizarre.

If by some change Goodwin gets out of this unscathed perhaps this isn't the program's death rattle. If he can be saved, Gordon can be saved, and we still can be good next year. I hope this is the case. I no longer know what to think.

I've found out that the AD reads this site, along with many other higher ups at SLU. I was even scolded by a boardmember a couple weeks ago for speaking the truth! I haven't seen that poster here defending AD and management. That is insane, that you have boardmembers and AD worrying about a public message board. What that tells me is that they are and have been paranoid. It's not hard to do the right thing, unless you aren't good at your job or ethically you aren't a good professional. I agree the university is systemically broken. I've heard people say this isn't on AD, I disagree. He is in charge and has no problem taking all the credit when things are good, but not when they are bad? Not buying it. If he was running a company and there were two major incidents of sexual assault under his watch don't you think after the second one, somebody would wise up and say there won't be a third? And those are just incidents we know about publicly. He's the leader and making apologies for him and Pestello is wrong. They are paid to lead not be innocent bystanders. They are both jinx's to SLU overall. This is my last rant in AD and Pestello. Beating a dead horse.

Chris May is the most paranoid human being on the planet. The guy got into with a fan at Butler. A few games back a fan was yelling about the players (not directed at Chris), and he yelled back with a pompous smirk. The gameday experience is an embarrassment when compared to other schools we hope to emulate. This is due to the turnover in the department. How would you perform at your job if every time you did something your boss would have done differently he either barrages you with texts or sprints out of his seats to scold you? Watch him at games. That is how he "manages." Every program is in the process of imploding on his watch. SLU's holier than thou taking the high road major donor class needs to put an end to all this. Now is not the time to take the high road. The future of this program and the future of this University are in peril. Administration at all levels must change!
