Any chance SLU was/is waiting for certain players to leave before releasing their reduced/withdrawn punishments? I assume that after a student withdraws from school they would have to go through the application process again. I also believe that after an agent is hired the player is no longer eligible to play.

So being in big time DI athletics means the basketball players can do what they want without repercussions? Anyone wearing a SLU shirt is representing the university. The general public doesn’t know if the person clad in SLU gear is in the athletic department. Were the women holding disgusting pro abortion signs at the women’s march SLU students? Who knows? They were wearing SLU gear so they must be. Right? The code of conduct and behavior expectations should be the same for all. That includes all the drunk freshman roaming around campus during Welcome Week. Don’t believe that happens? Go watch like the upper classmen do.

Even if they ended up trying to help the players out by providing an account of events that supports the players, it's likely they would still get railroaded regardless. Kratky might just argue that the girls "don't know what they are talking about" because they are too "traumatized": http://www.latimes.com/sports/usc/la-sp-matt-boermeester-removed-unfairly-girlfriend-says-20170730-story,amp.html Horrible. Lives forever tainted. Makes me sad

Maybe the two girls who decided not to participate in the investigation (if factual) would participate in the appeal. I can’t imagine that anyone would want to ruin the future of four people with false accusations. I can’t believe that they would be okay with the recommended/handed out punishments. I’ll pray that their voices are now heard as they tell the truth. I also hope that the players and their families know that the majority of people are on the side of the truth coming out for their sons’ sake. It isn’t about playing basketball. It is about the truth and how the miscarriage of justice is hurting their sons. If I knew the girls I would certainly be recommending they reach out to the “powers that be” to tell the truth. The fate of these young men will weigh heavy on their minds (or at least I would think so if they have a conscience) the rest of their lives if they standby and watch four lives distroyed.

Long time reader. I have zero connections. Isn’t there someone or a group that can help these young men? Granted bad choices all around but a bad choice should not have such a damaging effect on their future. Sick and tired of girls crying foul when what they did becomes campus gossip. They planned it in advance and talked about it before and after. Can’t figure out how they are the victims. I hope an influential person or group comes forward to help these young men. Total respect for Coach Ford and the way he has held the team together throughout so much adversity.
