  1. You guy's didn't get your cash envelope? You had to go to the line on the left side of the stage. I got mine!

  3. Cheany was on the IU staff that took a three star HS athlete, Victor Oladipo and turned him into an NBA Lottery Pick. Cody Zeller was the second player the IU staff, with Cheany on board, got to the lottery. Results speak loudly.
  4. When a recruit is 'offered a scholarship' what exactly is exchanged? Is it a verbal offer or something in writing? Can an assistant offer a scholarship, or only a head coach? It seems to me that something solid would need to be exchanged, or confusion might reign a year or two down the line.
  5. ‏@JonRothstein Apr 15 The A 10 should be much improved in 15-16. URI, Dayton, VCU, GW, and Davidson will all enter the season aiming for a bid. A sleeper? SLU.
  6. A second Hoosier on the SLU watch list. Same school as Easley, but a year older. http://www.indystar.com/story/recruiting-central/2015/04/26/lawrence-north-2017-prospect-ra-kpedi-a-name-to-know-interest-from-number-of-division-i-programs/26407085/
  7. Per Kyle Neddenriep, Indianapolis Star, Indiana, Purdue, Saint Louis, Western Illinois among schools watching G3 Rising Stars with Kevin Easley, 2018 from Lawrence North. I couldn't find a 2018 thread and didn't want to start one.
  8. http://www.krem.com/story/sports/ncaa/2015/04/20/former-st-louis-guard-austin-mcbroom-to-transfer-to-ewu/26109555/ Reads like Austin will get plenty of minutes.
  9. Yes all games are included. We had DH's in 1995 and 1998 also. Those figures are included as straight up SLU numbers.
  10. Annual Average Attendance 1994-1995 17714 1 Kiel, 1997-1998 17708 2 Kiel, 1995-1996 16986 3 Kiel. 1998-1999 15142 4 Kiel, 1996-1997 13735 5 Kiel, 1999-2000 13630 6 Kiel, 1993-1994 13008 7 Arena, 2000-2001 12212 8 Savvis Center, 2001-2002 11598 9 Savvis Center, 2006-2007 9667 10 Scottrade
  11. Call his dad at CBC. He might tell you, seriously.
  12. I agree with this. You would think that the NCAA would put their best in Indy this weekend, but that obviously didn't occur. UW had more poise, and UW didn't take a horrendously bad three point attempt by Harrison. What was he thinking? Now Frank the Tank gets to go against the other potential NBA #1 pick, Okafor. Statistically he outplayed Towns. See how he handles Okafor.
  13. Thanks. I muted BR and listened on Westwood 1.
  14. Is Bill Raftery the worst BB analyst ever? He hasn't said one thing that isn't obvious.
  15. The two people I've read about are Mike Rhoades (VCU assistant from 09-14 and now the head coach at Rice) and Will Wade (VCU assistant from 09-13 and now head coach at Chattanooga). Both are very young...Rhoades is 42, Wade is 32. Wade has turned around Chattanooga pretty quickly in only 2 years (40-25 with a 22 win season this year). I think both of those guys would continue with the Havoc tradition. As far as current assistants, one is a recently promoted DBO, one is an ex-Tulsa assistant coach, and the other one is an ex-Tulsa/ex-Vanderbilt assistant coach. They're all pretty recent hires/promotions so I'd be surprised if any of them took over. The VCU Athletic Director stated that he wants a coach to continue to play HAVOC, so those two are likely 1A and 1B. I read that one of the assistants is heading to Austin. I agree with For DaLove that VCU could be better off with a coach that has a better offense than Shaka ran, and also because the annual Shaka Dance is now over.
  16. Dayton should get there 6'11" freshman center McElvene eligible too. He sat out this past season, I think, due to grades.
  17. Not about Porter, but another ex-coach. Per Stu D. All I can say is what a bad decision they made. Or not. It's been 14 years since Wisconsin chose Bo Ryan after deciding not to keep interim coach Brad Soderberg, now coaching at D-II Lindenwood.
  18. Do you have examples or is this just your opinion? I would hope your right, but I doubt it. Again, I would like to see the % of 5th years actually getting a Masters Degree.
  19. It sounds like you advocate letting a player with a degree and a year of eligibility left to play wherever he wants, so why even bother enrolling in a Master's program? Just show up and hoop. Why attend sham classes that you will abandon once the second semester starts? Saves on scholarship expenses too.
  20. It would be interesting to find out how many of these 5th year transfers actually obtain a Master's Degree from their new school. My bet is that the percentage if pretty low.
  21. Interesting comment by John Rothstein yesterday. Sources have told CBSSports.com that this is likely the last year that graduate transfers will be allowed to switch schools and not sit out, which would make these next few months the last time schools add "free agents" in college basketball.
  22. Never judge players on other schools that are recruiting him, on the number of stars arbitrarily awarded, or by pre-season workout posts from MBM's. Wait until you see him a a few games to form your initial opinion.
  23. Zero experience as a coach. This is a leap of faith. Today's recruits have no memory of Mullin's college or pro career. Think of this as if Cheaney had jumped from a corporate job to a head coach job. This hire is maybe a step better than DePaul bringing back Leitao. That is a shocker. No one wants that job? Likely DePaul got him for a bargin basement price.
  24. Well count me in as one who just doesn't understand college basketball. I saw half a dozen games we lost this past season by a handful of points, and we were outrebounded in each of them. Would Grandy have grabbed one or two or three additional boards and changed the game? Possibly yes, possibly no. Would three, four, or five more wins have made this season more enjoyable. Certainly. Would we have been a 'good' team? Depends on your definition. We certainly would have been better. Glaze averaged 4.5 rebounds in 13 minutes two seasons ago. Had he played 15 to 20 minutes a game this year, he likely would have been our leading rebounder. I guess we don't need a solid rebounder. I guess I don't get it.
  25. Dec 16, 2014 Wichita Eagle: Koch Industries and the Fred and Mary Koch Foundation are giving $11.25 million to Wichita State University, the largest single-time gift in university history. University leaders said the money will create a significant impact on education, local entrepreneurship, jobs and south-central Kansas economics. Except for $4.5 million being given to athletics, most of the money will go to students and scholarships, WSU and company leaders said. The money will be spent five ways, according to WSU and the company. 1. Athletics – $4.5 million will go to expanding and renovating Charles Koch Arena and expanding the Student Athlete Success Center Read more here: http://www.kansas.com/news/special-reports/koch/article4517821.html#storylink=cpy
