  1. Sorry to say won't be there, will have to watch on TV
  2. What happened to the billion dollars?
  3. Despite all the predictions and all the learned experts opinions, we got a #5 seed.
  4. OK, I was at work and the computer could not get the feed. All I saw were the numbers in the A10 site and this thread. Tough game, we lost. I think the cause of the loss was not a single event, it is just that we did not score as well in the second half although we had the opportunities to do so. A couple more baskets and we would have done it. Bummer.
  5. MudKat, GW has yet to play in the A10 tournament. The team that got taken out today was George Mason. GW's bid for the NCAA is still very much alive.
  6. Agree the financial details of the agreement, if any agreement is reached, are not likely to be publicly disclosed by any of the parties involved.
  7. Well then, this becomes a must find out item. This will not remain secret speculation if we receive an invite to join Big East. The terms of our membership in the new conference will have to be stipulated in great detail in any sort of agreement reached with them.
  8. Fully agree with you Clock, from a financial point of view there is no point in joining a conference with high buy ins, and unequal revenue sharing from the conference, particularly when teams like DePaul would be getting a bigger share of the revenue than the late expansion teams. If Georgetown and Marquette suffer from inflated egos, they should eat some humble pie before they expand their conference. The question here is the role Fox will play in this process.
  9. Thank you Slu72 fan, this gives a valid base to evaluate how much Big East would have to offer us to make a change profitable for SLU, from a monetary basis only that is. I do realize there are other advantages, non financial, involved as well.
  10. I am delighted we won the game yesterday as well as the A10 championship. It is not an issue now whether Jett and Evans were injured at the time of the game yesterday, they did perform well and we won. The next 5 days of rest until Friday, together with physical therapy and practice, should be very good to both Jett and Evans. However they will have to face daily play for up to 3 days until the end of the A10 tournament, and then soon thereafter lots of more play in rapid succession at the NCAA tournament. I do hope these 5 rest days coming next will be wonderful for both of them and that they will be in shape for the grueling level of play that will follow. I am looking forward to McCall, Manning, and Grandy doing very well in the tournaments and carrying their weight. Let's think positive and support the team, it will be very tough on them once the daily play starts.
  11. Taj, this is an issue of coulda, shoulda, woulda... It did not happen but we could and should have won against Duquesne and Dayton. A VCU win would have been more difficult, particularly with Evans playing injured, but it could have happened. We did lose all of these games and now we have a negative momentum and the psychological drag resulting from it. Every team has times like these, the really good teams get over it. We will see what the future brings to us. Personally I think we are a really good team and we will get over this bad streak. Coming out of the game last night, I was very disappointed with the result when my friend said something that bears repeating. She said she had been a fan of the Bills for so long that regardless of what happened tonight and on the last few games she was delighted with the results this year. She said she could remember going to the games and cheering for the Bills in years when the Bills won 3 games and lost 20... This is an awesome year for us, and that is the truth regardless of Duquesne, VCU and Dayton. Every team loses games they should and could win, we are no exception.
  12. Evans played well tonight but we lost, I am very sad and disappointed.
  13. Very disappointed and sad about the loss tonight. At the very least St Joseph lost to GW as well which means we are still ahead of them in the conference. Oh well, we will have another chance to win the title Sunday.
  14. Taj, that is my earnest desire for tonight as well.
  15. Taj, I want to point out that the conference title was ours to lose in both the Duquesne game and the VCU game, both of which we lost. I will be at the game tonight but I am worried. The team is great, but Evans was playing injured against VCU and made only 4 pts. We will see how he plays tonight.
  16. One thing that has seemed odd about DE, at least in the last game, is how low (close to the ground) he has been dribbling. Now, please keep in mind that my knowledge of basketball in technical terms is very limited, but could it be that his hip causes him to lose control over the ball if he dribbles normally? Could this be causing turnovers? His many bad passes in the last few games may be due to being unable to turn at his normal speed with the bad hip, and the lack of power in his jump shot (which have been blocked repeatedly as of late) may also be due to problems jumping due to the hip. Finally could Loe's dribbling be due to the fact that he is really trying to help out DE by taking over doing some of the things his friend is not doing well any longer? I am no coach, I know nothing about the technicalities of the game, but I would be questioning these in my mind as I evaluated the last few games we have played. Certainly DE scored very very poorly in the last game against VCU, 4 points in 31 minutes of play. Grandy for all his faults had 4 points in 4 minutes of play. All I can say is that I am very concerned about some of the things I am seeing. Perhaps what I am saying is mainly the result of my lack of knowledge about the technical aspects of play, however I would like to see DE get some rest.
  17. Thank you MB I needed that reminder tonight
  18. We should play on without Evans. We will see.
  19. I felt confident before the Duquesne game (I was wrong) and feel confident today. The Bills are good, they will win.
  20. Sulfan 13, this is a list of the positives from last night loss: That's it
  21. Thank you very much Wiz, very clear and concise. Really appreciate this.
  22. Hello Wiz, I do not want to quote your full post because it is so long, just an excerpt of it: "This is what is known as a double outlier game...outlier being an observation that is numerically distant from the rest of the data. In tonight's game , where we are heavy favorites, we had 2 things go way off....thus a double outlier. Both occurred in my favorite stat ...3pt shooting. Duq shot great (53.3%)...1st outlier ....we shot terrible (17.4%)...2nd outlier. Both of these numbers are off by about 50% from normal...that is a lot...that is why these are outliers. Oh well ...freak game ....time to move on.....and start a new 12 game win streak." I like this very much, it is clear and furthermore it is very much like what happened with the Oregon game last year. Yes, it does explain things adequately and outliers do occur (multiple outliers are very rare). However, I do have a question for you, how do you know if this is a clean outlier (even a double outlier) vs a basic change in the way we are playing? Are we ready to regress to the means now (a very good thing at this time) or not (a very bad thing at this time)? what do you think? As it turns out, Jordair injured himself last year during the A10 tournament games and probably was not playing at peak at the time of the Oregon game. At this time, and if I recall correctly, there was some indication that Dwayne had pulled a groin muscle during one of the last few games we played (and won) prior to yesterday. So, do you see anything in the numbers that indicates the Duquesne game loss is anything but a clean double outlier type of result or do you see something else? Is it too early to determine this?
  23. I know we are all hurt by the loss, some of us are mad others are depressed. I am a mix of both. Anyway, a loss is a loss and it is not the end of the world. Let us hope this lights a fire under the team and they get back into track. We can win all the games remaining in conference play if the team just manages to keep together and not become disjointed by this loss. This is neither the end of the world nor the end of the season. .
  24. Yup, we lost this one against all expectations, mine included.
