OP I am a lurker here, but have posted some throughout the years. I wouldn’t consider this site toxic or to have any impact on free thought. It’s actually probably the best space online to find the most accurate and updated billiken info you can. It has its flaws.. but it’s a FAN site. You just don’t like the ideology of the majority of the posters here. Or maybe they don’t like yours. It doesn’t mean you’re wrong. It just means most people here view the team and program differently than you do. but I would say it’s far from free thought oppression or toxic.. if you don’t like it, I would recommend finding a new site or even start a new site if you don’t like the culture. Personally, I don’t disagree with talking MVC. I think it’s a fun topic. But some of the heavy posters here aren’t going to listen to it because it’s been discussed here 1000 times... You never know how things play out, but I respectfully disagree. Perkins minutes were going to be here regardless. You probably see more balance throughout. I don’t necessarily think anyone gets buried. Maybe Hargrove and Weaver see less time. But not Perkins. He had minutes and results prior the Gibson’s injury and plays a different role.

I agree. I feel like Goodwin and French (especially French) are mental cases at the foul line at this point. I would be done “coaching” on this and tell the guys just shoot the f-ing ball. French missed the rim 3 times... 3 air balls from the foul line... at home!! Has that happened before?? and also one of his makes was off the backboard. I legit can say, I don’t know how thats possible. He might as well throw it like a football and hope somebody on our team gets the rebound. I heard somebody outside the stadium after the game bragging how this was such a great game to be on ESPN 2 for us... and I thought.. ok, yeah great for us for pushing a top ranked team to OT.. but really all i could think about was how many people saw French shoot from the foul line tonight and thought “wtf?!”... and why are we taking Hargrove out on offensive possessions late in the game. Pretty sure Dayton figured out we can’t make foul shots.. and he can.. if you want to play smart on the offense/defense scheme, we should have had him on O, not D... ridiculous. You could pose the same argument for Bell and French at that point if you wanted to.. if you want to play the odds.. i just don’t understand what fords strategy was beyond the 7 minute mark in the second half.. Unrelated to foul shots- I blame ford for the loss. 100%. Our guys played great. But I could go into several scenarios where he tried to micromanage the team at the wrong times, and it cost the game. And several times where he didn’t coach them and it cost us. (Like the last play...) I think we have a very well discipline, smart team (credit to Ford) but he lets his emotions micro manage the game and it disrupts what those guys got going on the floor. Finally.. I’m ready for more Hargrove. Not necessarily minutes. But take him off his leash. He lets Perkins shoot line drives from 3 and shoot awkward jumpers with no regret, but Hargrove looks terrified to miss an assignment on D or take a ballsy shot. Let him go. I think he can handle it. If he’s going to get minutes, then he needs the blessing from the sideline to be confident.

I couldn’t agree more. -Hargrove yanked too fast. I know it was tighter game than it should have been. But let him make a mistake and still play a couple of minutes. - French can guard outside of the paint. Let Bell get the minutes. - Weaver could make a difference on offense. - Forgot about thatch in my post. Agreed. - Yes, throw Hankton in for a couple of minutes. He plays smart. Especially in a game against GW that is not deep and in foul trouble. i think the game last night went 4+ minutes without a FG. Just ugly. We have to find ourselves. Because taking turns at the foul line is a pretty dangerous path for us.

I think you have to win 2 of these 4 minimum: @Richmond, Dayton, @Dayton, VCU Plus redemption vs Duq at home. That’s if you’re looking at who we beat... we still have to at least show up in the conference tournament. 22 wins with a quick conference tourney exit and we got no chance even if we hit the above goal. 23-24 Total wins without winning the conference and maybe we get in if all the above plays out. The A10 is better than last year. But I don’t see tons of bids given. 3, 4 tops. Might depend on where Dayton lands. But last year the A10 had 2 teams represented in the field...... Honestly I’m in a bad place since losing Jimmerson. I felt like with him we had all the boxes checked (minus FTs). It made me think we could swing games from multiple angles and make us more of a real team. Good ball handlers, good big men, Perkins/Jacobs have their threats, Goodwin an all around player who can get to the rim and a deep ball from Jimmy to round it out. Play hard defense and put the right guys in for the foul shots late in games and we could compete. Now i feel like we are deflated. I feel like we are gonna to have to scrap to win. Guys are going to be tired. This game really sucked to watch even though we won. Maybe we pull off some big wins and look like we can win with a plan, and I’ll buck up. Otherwise this year I don’t see tournament. If we do, I’ll be pleasantly shocked to get out of round 1. Don’t hate! I love this team and we have some great athletes. Just going to be tough.

I had the same thought. However, they probably are going into this as team and that would require them rolling on the camera man. At this point they may have no other choice, but it would still be a lose for morale and the locker room.

Nobody on this board has a verified answer that he is the fourth. There was a tweet that supposedly had his name in with the other three along with a couple of other players. That’s the best I’ve gotten out of anyone. Maybe it’s common knowledge on campus and that’s just spread throughout the billiken community. That’s the best I’ve heard or got.
