  1. I think we all need to wait and see how everything turns out with potential recruits before we go crazy over this (I realize that's asking a lot). Am I disappointed with the way this situation was handled? Absolutely. We all should be. Am I disappointed in the way this turned out? Ask me again in a couple years as the recruits are/arent making an impact.
  2. Typical. When the West was the worst division in football, we were dreadful. Now that we're finally improving (and really making strides in my opinion), the West is arguably the best division in the NFL. I guess it could be a good thing though. Nothing like a good challenge to help these young guys experience big time football from the start.
  3. Tavon Austin and Alec Ogletree in Round 1 Pretty solid draft so far, though I'd have rather seen us take a safety with that second pick. What do you guys think? Was the trade for Austin worth it? What should we look for with our next few picks?
  4. Crews will win the award again next year (along with the AP and Naismith honors) when he leads us to an undefeated season and national championship.
  5. I'm a daily reader (but rare poster) on this board. After the tough loss on saturday, I feel like there's been a lot of negative speculation about the future. The future of this program is obviously important, but let's not be too fast to forget what the Billikens did this year. It was the best season in school history, full of incredible moments. Some of my favorites include destroying New Mexico, wreaking havoc on havoc, storming the court against Butler, and winning the regular season and postseason A10 titles, but my favorite moment had to be going in to Hinkle, and making our presence known as we beat Stevens and the bulldogs in their own house. What is everyone else's favorite memory? (or memories-since there are so many to choose from)
  6. This is awesome. If you thought the Bills weren't inspirational enough with all they've been through, this just adds a whole another element. We truly are the feel-good story of the tournament.
  7. VCU pulling away. The flagrant foul call was a game-changer.
  8. Outstanding season, no one can deny that we deserve the outright title. However, I think all the players made it pretty clear yesterday that theyre not satisfied with just a regular season championship. We are capable of doing something really special. The second season starts now.
  9. The analysts can go ahead and praise VCU all they want. It just makes us look better when we wreak havoc on havoc (again) in the conference championship game.
  10. Things I'm looking forward to: Watching the Bills crush La Salle Honoring our seniors with a great ceremony Watching the team cut down the nets Watching Temple beat VCU tomorrow, giving us the outright A10 title Let's do it.
  11. Dont post often, but at this point, I dont think rankings matter. We know how good we are. We've already shown 4 TIMES this season that we dont care who's ranked higher than us. Let's not worry about the media ttention, keep up the amazing play, and win ourselves an A10 title.
  12. I don't post often but found this nice little paragraph. I think it's big for us if our conference is getting this type of attention and respect already. Let's just hope the A10 plays up to expectations. 8. Is the Atlantic 10 the best conference in the country? The question does not sound so ludicrous if you insert the word basketball before "conference" -- in which case the answer is a resounding yes. While the BCS leagues have been shifting their deck chairs in hopes of landing the biggest football payday, the Atlantic 10 has quietly upgraded its lineup as a basketball-centric conference. The league is losing Temple to the Big East and Charlotte to Conference USA, but those changes won't happen until next season. In the meantime, Butler and VCU, which have a combined three Final Four appearances the last three years, will begin playing right away. That sets the stage for one of the most interesting conference races you will find anywhere. Six of the Atlantic 10's 16 schools garnered first place votes in the media's preseason poll. Saint Joseph's barely edged out Saint Louis for the top spot, which is a compelling narrative because the Billikens are without ailing head coach Rick Majerus the entire season. The Atlantic 10 has the potential to send as many as six teams to the NCAA tournament. If that's the case, there will be at least one so-called power conference with fewer representatives. Even after Temple and Charlotte leave, the Atlantic 10 has set itself up well for the future. The other high-end mid-majors (Mountain West, Horizon and CAA) have all been diminished by realignment. I know the Atlantic 10 doesn't like to think of itself as a midmajor conference, but in today's climate, if you're not a football league, then that's what you are. The difference is that the Atlantic 10 has embraced its identity instead of trying to expand its way out of it. It has been a necessary but smart strategy. 13. I love how hockey is back to being relevant in this city, its great. St. Louis has had a great year with the Cards winning the series and the Billikens making the tournament. If the Blues could win the cup it'd make for an unbelievable year for the city of St Louis
  14. I really appreciate getting to experience this season during my freshman year, its something I'll never forget. A lot of my other friends go to Illinois and Mizzou, but none of them got to see their team make it to the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament. Thank you Billikens for making my freshman year unforgettable. Also, cant wait for next year!
  15. biggest performance in SLU bball history?
  16. its ours for the taking now. if we stay focused and play our game we'll be A10 tourney champs
  17. crowd was awesome tonight! both the student section and the rest of the crowd were crazy loud. I was in the student section, and there was more than one occasion when I had trouble hearing the band. thats how loud it got. great job everybody.
  18. although you'd be waiting in a long line at pappy's, so maybe thats not the best choice before a game
  19. The way this season is going, there is no such thing as consistency in the A10, which is why a win today would've been big for the Billikens.
  20. someone please tell me that was a fluke game. cause if we cant step up and win at a place that looks like a high school gym then we're gonna have a really tough time at new mexico and on the road in the A-10.
  21. The attendance was not as great as I expected, but what we lacked in numbers we made up for in noise. The entire crowd was getting into it, not just the student section (which was awesome by the way). anyway, I think that the result of this game will get the attention of some people, and we can expect more people at games from this point on
  22. Awesome student section today. We will be very tough to beat at home if that kind of support continues
  23. ESPN's Andy Katz seems to think the Billikens will be dancing come tourney time. Nice little paragraph. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/blog/_/name/katz_andy/id/7215579/ten-programs-rise-season-college-basketball
