How bad? Will the AD have any deals?
-
Anyone making plans to go? Would anyone want to share an Airbnb/hotel room? Do we have details from the AD yet? Haven’t seen any tweets, but my feed is kind of a cluster at the moment...

Anyone have video of the post game interviews? Bar I was at didn’t have the sound and my recording at home got messed up... -
Well now it’s at St. B -2.5. Not many games today, the bettors must be getting antsy.
-
Yahoo Sports shows the line at SLU -6.5 now?! Lots of betting action on our side of the line if those numbers are coming from the same place.

The pick n roll at the top of the key with Isabell and French has won us all of these games. Reminiscent of the Jett-Evans combo. Bess and Goodwin spot up in the corners/wings and can slash if there’s an opening while Foreman waits for easy drop off finishes. It really maximizes the traits of everyone on the team, and Isabell has enough tricks up his sleeve that it’s really hard to defend; he doesn’t even know what he’s going to do until he does it. Hopefully the magic lasts (at least) one more game, it’s been fun to watch.

That Isabell pass was one of the best I’ve ever seen. -
Looks like Stone got a verbal commitment from someone yesterday.

I think Ford, along with many of us fans, have been tricked into thinking that things have been going alright. Our record is fool’s gold. This team needs to completely revamp the offense. It’s abysmal. The only reason it’s not worse is that Javon Bess has done a good job of hitting tough shots, and we’re pretty good on the offensive glass. There’s no flow and we rarely create open looks. Hankton and Wiley need to see more minutes, while Foreman and Thatch probably need a few less. We can sacrifice some defense and be merely top-30, if it can get us into the top-200 on offense; that would net us an extra 3.7 points/100 possessions. We’re that bad at scoring. Time to shuffle the deck and play a new hand, coach. Edit: Read the wrong column - we’d improve by 3.7, not 1.8 points/100 possessions!!!

Thatch really struggles making entry passes.

Their next game is at Seton Hall... I wonder if he’ll go through the handshake line?
-
Wonder how it feels to be watching his new team get beat by Butler at home.

Jacobs seems like a player with one gear right now, and it’s a bit too fast for his skill level and lacks any nuance. When he attacks the bucket you can see his athleticism, but he struggles because he doesn’t know how to slow down for half a step to throw the defender off balance. And then on his passes, he tries going full speed, but doesn’t pass fake or do anything to make the defender uncertain before he throws the ball, leading to easy steals. Great guards are the ones that can change pace and keep defenders guessing. Being able to beat everyone on athleticism alone in high school is probably why Jacobs doesn’t have this yet. The good news is that it is something you can learn.

Nothing happened. I’m guessing Rammer saw him go down and then when he seemed to be in pain, said something about maybe his shoulder being hurt and now everyone is freaking out. He landed on his tailbone and stayed in the game. Everyone needs to chill on this until we hear something real.
-
I’m guessing he had a bad angle on it then. Definitely landed on his tailbone, no clue how his shoulder would’ve gotten hurt.
-
That looked like he landed on his tailbone, not his shoulder

Silver lining to this game is that we can stop pretending this is an at-large team and get realistic. We’re borderline top-100. We’re better than we have been but still aren’t that great.

Dear god J Good

Yeah, you can still get Blatz in Wisconsin at least. A friend of my parents requests that we bring back a case whenever we drive up there to visit family. It’s a terrible beer.
-
Yuengling is definitely trash, it’s just slightly better trash than Bud/Miller/Coors. It’s like lint vs dirty diapers. While I was in grad school on the east coast, you could usually get a pint of any of the four aforementioned beers for $4 on draft at just about every dive bar. In that circumstance, I would choose Yuengling over the others every time. Also, at our grad student union you could get Yuengling on tap for $1. People always thought it was an incredible deal (which it was), and then I would tell them about penny pitchers, at which point they would lose their minds. RIP Humps.

It was a flagrant foul, the free throw shooter does not have to be the player that got fouled.

...Isabell had one turnover
-
Inconsistent half. Only issue for us has been turnovers, really. If we keep our heads and play our game we should run away with it in the second half.
-
If we aren’t recruiting him, we should be.

That’s fair, we do seem to have had more open looks, just still aren’t converting. Part of that might have something to do with the fact that UMass and App State are absolutely horrible on defense, though.
