  1. Wow. I'm amazed at such an optimistic take. Yes anything can happen and yes I am also excited to see the future of this year's freshmen class. But NEXT year the team being better than this one? That feels like both a super-rosey view of that group's potential and an out-and-out inditement of this year's squad. If we are lucky, the program will bring back 3 of tonight's starters next season. Realistically it may only be 1. Not to mention also losing the first 3 guys off the bench. And as good as the underclassmen may be, they'll still be inexperienced with Hughes being the only one to maybe get significant minutes when all is said and done this year. Ford or no Ford, finishing in the top 5-6 of the A10 next year will probably be a successful campaign.
  2. More like cheapest. But yes if the league has some success they’d probably go back to having true home markets. It does make the Battlehawks feel less like St. Louis’s team with no one local on the ground pushing the product. It is still, preferable to the USFL playing all their games in one city and being a purely tv product.
  3. That shouldn't even be enough to save him.
  4. I'm perversely loving that the Dukes are putting interim-coach Ford's stupid "they can't make them all" 3pt defensive strategy to the test.
  5. I presume this is what Stu is referring to.
  6. It’s really going to be something if the women manage a top 4 finish and the men don’t.
  7. Porter's OU has lost 7 of their last 8. But that 1 win was them blowing out the #2 team in the country. The Big12 is no joke.
  8. He was told before the tournament that he was done. We should know between March 4 and 8.
  9. The school maybe not. Hopefully the top donors do.
  10. With as much as Ford talks about the team wanting to run, it is quite a contrast when we play a team that actually does.
  11. I was actually happy for Fordham. Not that I didn't want the Bills to win but that team and fanbase deserve a reward for that effort.
  12. This does potentially affect the Billikens if BSMW is no longer in a position to produce the 10 or so games a year they do now. The A10 may have a deal to stream games on ESPN+ but only if they are being produced already. It will be one thing if some hedge fund steps in to buy the assets and keep running them. Or even if the Cardinals themselves buy BSMW and run it independently. In both scenarios they would still need the content the Bills provide to round out offerings. But in a world where the Cardinals and Blues go to direct streaming (STL City SC will already be streaming exclusively on AppleTV), there may not be a BSMW. And SLU may need to find new partners to actually do the production.
  13. Okoro's rebound count is up to 19. Ties Goodwin for second highest SLU single game total. record is 24
  14. So far it's been one of those rare games where the rest of the team is bailing Yuri out instead of the other way around.
  15. Tennis for people who can't play tennis. Just like lacross is hockey for guys who can't skate. *ducks*
  16. There was some research done a few years back that concluded the biggest factor in home-court advantage was the crowd influencing the officials. The idea being that the reason there seems to be a greater impact in basketball and baseball than say hockey or soccer is there are more potential judgement calls made by the refs/umps throughout the contest.
  17. You can't blame him for being shocked when something he's been doing the whole game with no problem is suddenly called a foul.
  18. Bob and Earl are reading the refs the riot act. Okoro is fired up. The crowd is still largely dead overall.
  19. The cheerleaders are mostly not here and the T-Shirt gatling gun wasn't working. Poor Dre was out there doing the T-shirt toss with no t-shirts being tossed.
  20. They do. I saw it this evening coming home from U City on I64 and am looking at it right now as of 10pm.
  21. That's a real shame. I had gotten the impression Fred wasn't planning on coming back next year either way. But no doubt not how he'd preferred to have things end. But as others have said, there is no doubt he will be successful at whatever come next. Best of luck to Fred in all future endeavors.
