I think most of us will agree Ford’s greatest asset is his recruiting. He is the best recruiter we have had since Romar and is probably Romar’s equal in that aspect. NIL may have eliminated, and at least substantially diminished that asset. This season he has to coach this lesser talented team up. If he can’t, why keep him?

No mention of NIL $’s in the Dandridge write up. More about where he could get minutes. If that’s truly the deciding factor, it should be easy for him. We’re the clear winner. But let’s get real. This is all about the Benjamin’s. Can we match the biggies is the issue?
Whenever they say its not about the money, its always about the money.

If he ends up coming he will probably have an attitude problem. He will feel he settled for SLU and we are lucky to have him. I say move on. Go with those that want to be here. We will be better off without him.

Doesn’t seem like much to get excited about from watching the video. Sure he makes his 3s, but who doesn’t on their promotional videos.

Yeah and if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle
Your aunt no longer needs balls to be your uncle. She can just identify as your uncle.

It has to be about NIL money.

Golf is dumb for a small AD like SLU. They were right to drop it. If SLU is in the market to make big changes, the move would be dropping field hockey for women’s lacrosse. It’s essentially the same sport financially but they can host on campus.
Lacrosse is a great spectator sport. They would get fans in the stands.

I thought Davide Robinson and Donnie Campbell shared the five spot on the Dobbs' team. Of course, they were a stretch at maybe 6'6" each. Dobbs played the power forward spot on a team full of shooters in Claggs, Hmark, H, Carl Turner, and even Dobbs himself.
I thought Robinson and Campbell played 5 his senior year and Evan Peterson was center his junior year. I remember Spoon joking about having a non dunking center(Peterson) and a 6’2” power forward.

David Burns .... by a mile IMO
I would take David Burns over any other player during my time as a fan other than Larry Hughes. However, for the best pure point guard, H.

Based on that evaluation, I would think every D1 program would want him. If he doesn’t go pro, he should get the most NIL he can. This is now his job and he should maximize his income. He gave us 4 years. Wish him well and move on.

Why not consider the fans when they make these decisions? The band has been a great contributor to the game day experience for years and the once a band member always a band member meme is great tradition. It wasn’t broke so why did they try to fix it?

Some Hasahn like dunks in this video. He looks to finish strong through contact and has some explosiveness. He averaged 3.5 RPG in only 12 MPG. Doesn’t need to be a double digit scorer. Great pickup.
All highlights are inside for the guy who doesn’t want to play inside.

Frank just said he heard Jimmy got $175k to go to Miss St.
That’s a lot of money for borderline talent.

I’d love to see Thames get significant playing time, but I don’t see Ford going in that direction.
I hope he is allowed to compete for significant playing time and given it, if he deserves it. If Ford is operating any other way, he should and will be fired.

Momo wasn’t a promising big. He was big.

Sounds like he just wants to move up.

I am no big Ekker fan and I was more than happy to see him go but Ekker's budget, even taking account inflation, was probably a tenth of Ford's. Couple that with a totally dysfunctional Athletic Dept. back then.
Remember the good times about the Ekker years. You could always get a good seat.

Could it be someone offered him a better NIL deal? If school A offers 50k and school B later comes along with a 150k offer, who wouldn’t switch to school B?

Our last two freshman bigs who left weren't poached, ended up at different schools and turned out to be players that could have helped us.
I know Traore had success. Who was the other?

Is Cian quicker than Yuri?

We’re Frank & Rammer saying we didn’t bring in big time transfer’s because Perkins would have lost playing time? If that is true, Ford should be fired. Bring in the best players you can get and let the playing time go to those who earn it.

Maybe he wants to retire for a while. He’s made plenty of money and this season had to take a toll on him. Maybe he is just tired of the grind and wants a break.

It would be interesting to see a list of the highest paid teams in college sports. It would also be interesting to see how they spend their money. What is the best spending strategy? I would think concentrate the money on three top players and supplement with role players.
Does anyone know how much we are spending on the men’s team this year? Do we spend any on the women’s team or other sports?
