  1. what big name coach do you think we can get? I'm not thrilled with Brad, but I don't think we can do much better.
  2. I agree. In many ways SLU sort of missed their chance to jump up a level while Mizzou was in the crapper with all sorts of scandal surrounding the program and before MO St. began improving. We neeed to do well the rest of the year or it could set us back a ways. If Brad doesn't show that this was just one bad game by still making it to the NCAAs then I'll start to think that it might be time for him to go.
  3. I think it helps them get fired up if fans are cheering for them, but they should be able to play either way.
  4. no need to make personal attacks. it was a bad loss. i'm angry with the Bills, but that does not mean we have to get angry at eachother.
  5. this was a road game. that makes it just a bad loss. probably a really bad loss. regardless it is still ONE freaking game. no reason to flip out and declare that the world is going to end.
  6. he's probably still ripping into his players for that crappy performance.
  7. that is ridiculous. one bad loss does not get a coach fired. look at the rest of the year, we've played pretty well. if this starts a losing streak and we end up below .500 then Brad's job will probably be on the line. right now I'll stick with him til the end of the year and let him slide on 1 bad loss.....for now.
  8. I like to stay optismistic, but this was an awful loss. I don't care if we have to travel to the Austalian outback or the top of mount everest. We should not lose to one of the worst teams in D-1. We need to stop all of the offensive rebounds and turnovers. Lisch had a bad game. He has been hurt for a while and played much better in all of those other games. That is no excuse. We can still get an at large bid if we win out or maybe only lose 1 more game, but in all likelihood we have to win the A-10 tourny now to get to the NCAA tourny, otherwise its NIT (hopefully). My only hope is that this loss is a huge wake-up call to our guys who seem to always come out flat.
  9. Where is Marquee Perry when you need him?
  10. horrible game out of Kevin Lisch so far.
  11. come on....for everyone whining about our shooting we are at 50%, 57% from 3pt. This game is being lost by turnovers and giving up offensive rebounds. makes me wanna puke.
  12. I think SLU could really get some good players from the East Side (see Liddell and Lisch). Mizzou is going to go after good players on the MO side of St. Louis, but Illinois focuses more on Chicago. Therefore I think SLU has a better chance with good players from the East Side of StL.
  13. actually I just found a site that averages a bunch of rankings http://masseyratings.com/cb/compare.htm It has SLU at 55.
  14. RPI = 43 (http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html) Mike Greenfield = 38 (http://teamrankings.com/ncb/) Jeff Saragin = 50 (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/bkt0607.htm) Ken Pomeroy = 99 (http://www.kenpom.com/rate.php) Average of all 4 = 57.5 Obviously Pomeroy underrates SLU by a lot. I'm not aware of any other college basketball rankings. If anyone else knows of any please let me know. Thanks
  15. 1. I'm surprised at how few current SLU students there are on this board (only 3 out of 49 so far). 2. I guess I'm also a SLU fan b/c "Easy" Ed Macauley is like my 5th? cousin (he's first cousins with my grandma, so I'm not sure what that makes us). Which means I'm also a distant relative of former SLU walk on Kevin Shortal (maybe 7th cousins). 3. bump
  16. I say 13-3 in conference, but we will lose at Houston also so 13-4 the rest of the way. We'll likely lose at Xavier, at Dayton, and at St. Joe's
  17. I added Ian's career stats to his page and updated the record on the 2006 team page. I also added some other SLU players who had been drafted into the NBA on the overall team page. I'll try to do more if I have time.
  18. I think they are all winnable too, but I don't wanna get too excited. Anything can happen and its tough to judge teams head to head until they have actually played. I didn't think St. Joe's would dominate us in the conference tourny last year like they did, but it happened b/c they figured us out and shut down our offense. Pomeroy has us going 10-7 from here on out, so maybe we should temper our expectations a bit.
  19. that is awesome. nice work. are you planning on making profiles for all of the players? check out this wikipedia artile about the bball team. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Louis_U...%27s_Basketball
  20. I'm gonna go with Billiken teams of the last 5 years eventhough I watched Dobbs, Claggett, H, and Highmark I was like 7 or 8 years old so I don't remember it all that well. Probably after Larry Hughes and Justin Love is what I remember best. So here goes... PG Josh Fisher G Kevin Lisch G Marquee Perry F Chris Sloan C Ian Vouyoukas Off the bench Tommie Liddel, Kenny Brown (defense only), Reggie Bryant (shooting), Maurice Jeffers, Luke Meyer, Izik Ohanon, Anthony Drejaj
  21. thanks for the info. that is sort of what i figured with the big guy.
  22. I know it might be a stretch a bit this early, but I hope we not only make it to the NCAA tourney, but win at least one game. I don't think its out of the question if we are seeded 12 or better that we can win a game. in fact I hope we sneak in with a 12 seed and knock off the 5 in the first round and then take down the 4 in the next round. How awesome would it be to make it to the Sweet Sixteen. OK OK I'm wayyyy ahead of myself. I do think our best shot at the sweet sixteen would be as a 12 seed though.
  23. Yeah sorry. My dad got me into SLU BBall too. He is a SLU alumn and gets season tickets every year. I would have gone to SLU, but wanted to get away from home a little bit. So I go to games over Xmas break with him.
