Complain all you want about Majerus but he's the only reason we are pre-season top 25 and just got finished with a great year. Up his contract and give him what he wants or forget about the flutie effect and we'll be right back to where we were before he got here. And if we are back to mediocrity you can forget about filling the high priced arena seats. we'll be lucky to have 4k fans a night.

otto porter isn't coming to slu. before anderson left, his final three were mizzou, kansas, and georgetown. word is that UCLA is in the mix now too. porter's father was a college b-ball player and would not let him play AAU ball. if he had, his recruitment would have been even bigger. he's big-time. i realize he plays in a small rural town, but he had 35 rebounds in a game this year, which is a state record. he's not coming to slu.

that's some real wishful thinking. the comparison to conklin is probably more fair than cody, who is basically an over-sized three. howard is a true power forward. he is a banger. we do not have one. and to hope that cody will be one is like hoping that salecich becomes jimmer fredette next year.

Howard is light years ahead of conklin. he was a top 100 recruit. he is bigger, faster, stronger, and a better shooter than conklin. they're not even in the same league with one another.

You have a situation where the prosecutor would not go forward, where the girl won't even file a civil case, and where the police report suggests that nothing criminal happened. It was not a perfect night, but to not allow the 2 players back into school would actually be less in keeping with the mission statement of St. Louis University. They have served their punishments. Now we can move on. The school was in a hairy situation here. Booting 2 players for having what appears to be consensual sex with someone would set the bar pretty high and would be pretty unfair. Most schools would have had both players on the court within a week. (See Michigan St.)

i'm with roy on this one. i wanted him several years ago but if he wanted to transfer now, i'm not so sure about it. also, i don't think rm had much of a chance with him anyways.

wooden also was a proven cheater. if uconn is cheating, its not to the level that UCLA was. so maybe we should give uconn the nod on this whole thing. its like asking who's the home run king. is it barry bonds (the cheater) or roger maris?

I haven't looked at the stats but it seemed to me that we shot free throws better than Duke. And, turnovers will always be a problem when your 2 primary ballhandlers are freshmen. I would bet 10 of the 14 first half turnovers were committed by freshman. With KM and WR, the turnover situation would have been much different.

NH - You need to admit that you were wrong about Loe. Not only did you say he would not dominate, you basically said not to expect anything out of him. He scored 19 points in 20 minutes. Yeah, he needs to get tougher down low. But he is the best freshmen big man SLU has had in a long time. He's probably the best freshman we have had since Larry Hughes. He'd be even better if he wasn't playing out of position. Those are things you were not expecting from him. Admit it. Pick and Roll is right.

BillikenDoc - I have a problem with what you are saying. As an attorney who has handled sexual assault cases before, I will tell you that the lawyers who handle these cases would NOT view this as assault. Neither would the judges involved. I will also say that almost every attorney who needs a medical expert to say an incident constituted assault can find one. Your opinion is completely subjective. You hold a very lax view of what constitutes assault. And, in a lot of ways, it is very dangerous. This girl never said no. Sure, at some point, she expressed some hesitation. That was before people started getting naked and before she put a condom on people. You are taking the minority view - a feminist view - that if a girl expressed uneasiness at any point during an encounter, then anything that happens after that is assault so long as she regrets it. This is the kind of view that allows women to exculpate themselves from blame. It is also the kind of view that most of the world, including most doctors, view as ridiculous. So when you come on the board and pound your chest about your opinion as a physician, please put a disclaimer on it. Most doctors would not agree with your opinion.

It really took no digging. That's the scary part. I just googled her name and every result had something to do with feminism and/or sexual assault. I haven't even googled the other girl whose name is on those reports. I'm too scared to do it.

I read the story in the RFT. I also read the portions of the police report that were linked to the RFT article. I was surprised to see the names of two SLU females included in the police report. I presume they were friends of the victim. In any event, I googled the name of one of these two females. And I was frightened by what I saw. Apparently, the girl is some kind of campus feminist activist, which would be every guy's nightmare, but in particular a guy who might have had any kind of sexual contact with a girl who has had regrets. These feminist types are the ones who get in these girls ears and convince them that everything that has gone bad is always the fault of a man. I will not disclose the girl's name, but you can read the police report and google her if you like. She posted one article on a SLU facebook sexual awareness page. The article basically says that if a guy has to beg a girl to perform any type of sex act and she decides to do it after a bit of discussion, then she has not fully consented and it is assault. You can pretty much lock up every non-virgin in the country using that logic, including females. I also found it interesting that this same girl was interviewed in at least one stltoday.com article. In it, she was the one claiming to feel unsafe and "disregarded" on SLU's campus and wanting to know. How did stltoday find this girl? Oh, yeah, and she posts on a website called "feministing" and is quoted in a unews article from last year re: sexual assault awareness. Why was this girl involved at all in the police investigation?

we have no idea what was told to the players. maybe they were told the coaches couldn't be there. maybe the coaches tried to be there and were told they couldn't. we have no idea what happened, yet you once again jump at the chance to blame this on majerus, like you always do. you really have no credibility on this issue because of the coach, who has jaded your view of everything that happens. if sodie was at the helm right now, your posts would be completely different.
