  1. Thanks. When you get old, you forget (or maybe you just didn't want to remember)
  2. does anyone recall the name of the point guard we had from Vashon-he was very short, couldn't shoot , and turned out to be very disappointing. Hopefully Yuri won't be of the same mold
  3. almost mid-December: by far leading candidate for most pleasant surprise-Fred Thatch
  4. ? Donnel Reid ? other Beaumont players:Barry Orms, Robin Jones (played briefly in NBA)
  5. I was really just reminiscing about Jordair. His tremendous athletic ability:finish with either hand, great hang time, uncanny ability to avoid the charge. No point to make except our current players just can't do what he did.
  6. want to see how to finish a fast break--bring back Jordair!!!
  7. Thor's first shot reminded me of Stephen Curry. Tough act to follow
  8. To be really successful this season we will need contributions from some unexpected sources. It will interesting to guess who that may be. I would eliminate Goodwin,French, Bess, and ,probably Gordon-we know what to expect from them. That leaves Welmer,Isabell,Wiley,Thatch,Jacobs,Gudmundsson, and Foreman. Will have much better answer by December
  9. McKinley had JoJo White (Kansas), Harrison Steptor(Michigan State) and blank Johnson(Mizzou). They all were starters on their college teams and one even made it into the NBA Hall of Fame. By the way, they didn't even win their district.
  10. It seems that everything depends on the non-conference won-loss record. If A-10 does well, we can get 4 teams in. Have no idea who the other A10 teams are playing early on
  11. Is Pestello saying that the 2010-2011 graduation cohort is 74%? The correction letter is confusing and doesn't clarify whether there are any repercussion's for ther mistakes . By the way, he is wasting more money by hiring an outside firm to evaluate the problem instead of taking the bull by the horn himself.
  12. Any word on open practice? Would love to see newcomers. I presume there can be no official team practices with coaching staff until October. ?Midnight madness-would be exciting this year
  13. shoots from outside left-handed; drives and finishes with right hand
  14. Naismith hall of fame; Olympic gold medal; 14,000 points; 4000 assists; 2000 rebounds; star of 5th game triple-overtime NBA classic final with 33 points; 4th greatest Celtic player of all time. Usually played 40 minutes per game. If Tatum can overtake JoJo White, he will have an unbelievable career
  15. I believe there are 3 Jesuit schools remaining in the tournament: Xavier, Gonzaga, Joyola Chicago (appropriate typo). Georgetown used to be best program. Hopefully we can emulate in future. Gonzaga has probably been the best of these programs in recent years with Xavier a close 2nd. Creighton is good. Detroit beat us this year. Where do we rank in basketball among Jesuit schools? Biondi wanted us to become the Georgetown of Jesuit schools academically. He also wanted us to become successful in basketball. That's why he hired Majerus and part of the reason he built Chaifetz.
  16. Dr. C isn't the only major contributor to the program. To his right are the TV broadcasters. To their right are Novelli and company. They also contribute big bucks, but don't get the notoriety C does. I am not sure how much influence they have in decision-making for the program
  17. The Post-Dispatch sent me an email wanting to know how I felt about the newspaper. I responded with a negative. They asked why I felt that way. I simply replied: get rid of Ortiz. If anyone else gets a similar email, I suggest you do the same
  18. Thanks; great post; good for Randy K; sums it up nicely
  19. Seems like her attorney is basing her case on the difference between realizing something vs knowing something. ? semantics Similar to the meaning meaning of "is case" Did the attorney consult with Bill Clinton?
  20. Since the Saint Louis police investigated S2 and have not filed charges, could they be called in a suit against the university. Rumor has it they some of the police officers(females included)are appaled at the outcome
  21. Brehmer and Ekker were not nice guys; Crews was a nice guy; Unfortunately, the jury is still out on Pestello
  22. no 3-point shot for White,McCauley,Bradley. Walt Frazier and a guy named McNeil (SLU Carbondale-coached by alex Hanuum) used to also play in those pickup games. SLU would get top local talent until Buddy Brehmer came along as coach. He set the program back decades.
  23. He used to stop by the West Pine gym on Saturday mornings for pickup games. we would just watch in amazement as he .drilled 30 footers. His senior year at McKinley High played on team with Harrison Steptor who later went on to star as guard at Michigan State under John Bennington(former SLU coach) and with ? Coleman who became a starting forward for Mizzou. Amazingly McKinley did not win district that year
  24. I recently received an email from Pestello with a request that I volunteer to interview potential incoming freshman for possible scholarships. He doesn't have a clue about the animosity I feel towards the University both because of the basketball situation and the medical school fiasco. I would be ashamed to interview potential students. Pestello just dosen't get it.
  25. You are mistaken If you think dealing with any law firm can be quick. It makes no difference whether case is criminal or civil..The recent case involving murder by Clemens dates back to 1991. Hard to imagine its effect on the family of the murdered girls. Even though the legal system is what makes us great the pace at which it proceeds is extremely unfair to all concerned
