If SLU were to go 14-2 in the A-10 (they play 16 conference games, not 18) and run the table on their non-con schedule except for a close loss at Duke, not only will they be a lock for the tournament, they would probably get about a 4 seed (could be a 3 if the non-con schedule was tougher). Butler was a lock for an at-large too, since they beat Ohio St. and Xavier in non-con and ran the table in the Horizon League. Mid-majors like Boise and TCU will get into lesser BCS bowls but will almost never get into the national title game, I don't think. They don't have the strength of schedule to be in the top 2 in the computer polls, and the coaches poll is horribly biased and will also almost never put them in the top 2 either. They pretty much need the SEC, Pac10, Big10 and Big12 champs to all have 2 losses, except their title game opponent.

Agreed. People only want to focus on how teams like Boise and TCU are undefeated and haven't lost any games, but they haven't really beaten anyone either. They might be the best team in the country, but we'll never know for sure because they don't play anyone. Not sure why Boise gets all the attention, TCU is more worthy since the Mountain West is much better than the WAC and is on par with the Big East or ACC.

Our team of 5 juniors, 3 sophomores and 4 freshmen might have a lot of playing experience but I still wouldn't exactly call it a "veteran squad."

Is it a done deal that 2 players will be suspended for the entire season? If there was any meat to this story, I would think other media outlets would pick it up besides just KSDK. Until I hear anything from the athletic department, I expect the 2 players in question to play the whole season. We'll know for sure on Nov 2.

I really can't blame these writers too much for not researching our team, when we haven't been to the Dance for 10 years now. Make the Dance this year, then have the whole team coming back, and then see what they write.
