The only way he leaves is a falling out with Biondi. If that were the case, Biondi should (and probably would) be promptly replaced as president. Rick leaving at this point for a 3rd rate job in Texas would permanently cement SLU as a mid major program. It's not going to happen though.

There's also a CBS article that says they've targeted Rick and Buzz Williams from Marquette. Buzz is making a lot of dough at Marquette and has one of the biggest basketball budgets in the land. Seems that SMU is trying to hit out of their league. Maybe some friends of the program will step up with some bags of cash.

The strong feelings for two reasons. First being that he isn't coming here so no need to turn it into a 4 pager on who is leaving, how he would fit in, etc. Second being that he isnt a Majerus type player. He will go to Illinois and fit well with Groce's system there.

+1. We easily could have been a sweet 16 team this year if we had the road of any 6,7,10,11 seed. We got the shaft somewhat in that regard. Next year could be the same where we wind up getting stuck as an 8/9 seed vs. a strong #1.

I don't really see the need for him. Why are we taking Louisville's offcasts? Why are we talking about a guy who averaged 3 ppg for his career and shot terrrrrribly? I think the Saint Louis University Billikens are above this type of player at this point in time. Now if Brad Beal wanted to transfer and play at SLU that is a different story.

This is true. The guy has to have a release from the program, his 4 year degree, and pursue a graduate degree not offered at his previous school.
