  1. Well that's interesting, I guess ..... but only if some of these guys are looking at SLU.
  2. That's really dumb. You have to get players ready for "real" games.
  3. So, with a covid year assume he has 2 years eligibility? HS class of 2019.
  4. SLU will have a very young squad. I count 6 freshmen and sophomores, basically half the squad. One or two of these freshmen really need to compete for rotation minutes right from the start, even if the last 2 scholarships go to upper class transfers.
  5. Suspect you nor any of the posters on this Board have a clue about the dynamics within Ford's organization/coaching staff. Just blowing smoke......
  6. Well then we disagree as I think your synopsis is fatally flawed Roy. Pickett looked great early on then he got injured and that negatively impacted his game. The injury is not Ford's fault. Who knows, if Pickett doesn't get hurt maybe the Bills win a couple of more games and dance. And play Thames? Sorry but he was hurt as was Thatch. Is that the Coach's fault? I think not. Play TJH more? Nope, he seems to be a great young man but he is a defensive liability due to his size and lack of ball-handling skills. He was not the answer. The Bigs? Beg to differ here too. Okoro obviously had some off-court issue or whatever as one poster stated. He just wasn't productive. Other A10 Bigs out-played him. Remember that first Mason game? Our Bigs were outplayed severely. And Collins, well I assumed he was voted as the leader .... he was the captain or co-captain right? Problem with this squad seemed there wasn't a player or players willing to step up and lead. So is Ford and staff responsible? Sure, but you have Perkins never recovered. Thatch, Pickens and Thames hurt. Players failed to step up. I say there is bad luck and blame to spread around to the coaches and players. But to blame all on Ford? Nope.
  7. So sick of this narrative. Move on with your blame game, the season's over and Ford is still the coach. Your repeated constant complaining accomplishes absolutely nothing ...... NOTHING! Much of the hype was based on a fully recovered Perkins. He was less than a "shadow of his former self". Our Bigs were over-rated IMO. Pickett didn't fully pan out. Collins was not a leader. Yes, you can blame the coaching staff partly for these issues. But bottom line, this roster was never as good as the press clippings.
  8. Thames was apparently hurt the second half of the season. At the halfway point of the season he and Hughes had both played limited minutes. Who's to say without the injury Thames wouldn't of also become a bigger contributer like Hughes.
  9. Really? I have searched the internet and can't find any source that gives open roster spots by team. So is your statement based on fact or "gut" feel?
  10. Agree. Some folks just hate Ford so much, they see disaster around every corner. My guess is that most if not all A10 teams still have unfilled spots on their rosters. It is just the new reality of college sports. I will be concerned if 2 of the 3 sports aren't filled by July. Until then, I'm chilling.
  11. Sorry, love the Billikens, but they are way down my list of what is really important. If they suck next year, I'll follow them and cheer for them realizing it's just another form of entertainment. I am not playing nor are you, so we are just watching and cheering ....... right, it's just entertainment and not worth stressing over or letting it ruin your day. Just my opinion .....
  12. He verbally committed to SLU .... doubt he signed any papers locking him in on that decision.
  13. How do you know he was a top priority? Don't remember that being stated by Ford or staff anywhere. He was just the first to commit. Committing first and being a top priority are two completely different things. Yes, he was a piece of the puzzle ..... top priority, doubt it. An experienced big was likely the top priority IMO, not a player that plays a position (2/3), that the roster already has multiple options in Hughes, Jimerson, Thames, etc.
  14. I don't disagree with your statement as the roster stands today. But given there are still three open roster spots, your statement is very possibly totally wrong. If Ford and staff can add three solid rotation type players to the roster, your prediction goes up in smoke. And there are plenty of solid players still out there and available to make my premise very doable.
  15. That is debatable as well. When Ezewiro committed to SLU he also had interest from Memphis, Oregon State, Washington State, UNLV, etc. Medley committed early before his senior season. No telling what his recruiting stock would have been if he waited or if he had decommitted like Vice did. Time will tell but will be surprised if Vice plays much at all next season for Creighton.
  16. Top 2 recruits? That's highly debatable. I would put Ezewiro and Medley ahead of the two SLU lost. Dalger and Zhang are at least equals to the 2 lost as well. Now Bussell is a bit of a mystery.
  17. I beg to disagree. There are hundreds of players left unsigned, many many of A10 caliber. Heck, the portal just closed less than 3 weeks ago!
  18. Boy, folks on this board worry too much. SLU has a decent "core" of players. Three spots to fill with many players still not committed. I'm thinking I might start worrying, say in July, if SLU still hasn't filled some of the holes in this squad. Until then, think I'll enjoy the developing story. Don't think I'll stress over losing a guy that averaged 3.2 points a game. He's totally replaceable. Chill guys. It's only a game.
  19. More silliness and caving in to the few and telling the many ..... to take a hike. Colonials is an honorable name. There were 13 American colonies that revolted against the British Empire and created a country unique in its time and still a shining beacon of freedom for much of the world. The people who created this wonderful country were called ...... Colonials.
  20. Its been really quiet. Maybe wishful thinking but I want players that have the ability to be in the starting lineup or at least rotation players for these last two spots. Maybe wishful thinking but a power forward who can step out and hit the mid-range shot or 3 would be awesome. Would love to see a 2 big lineup possibility. A tough ball-handling guard is a must. Get'um Ford and Staff!
