  1. DP came in and played a superb game on offense and defense. If some way DP could get it going this team has a good chance in the post season to make some noise. DP is running the fast break again, his defense has been awesome and his shot has returned. DP is happy and enjoying the game again. Hard work does pay off. DB also came in and scored 7 quick points in 13 mins tonight. Why has Brad not given DB more time is a good question. DB also scored 9 points in 13 mins against Temple. I say play DB at least 20 mins per game. We could use his shooting and let him take his man off the dribble. The foul called on KL had nothing to do with this lose. It had everything to do with defense and rebounding. Dayton got way to many boards. I love KL games but sometimes young Mr Lisch tries to do to much along. Plus KL does't create enough for his team-mates. Out of the last 6 games KL has finish with 0 assists three times. That's pretty amazing considering how much he handles the ball.
  2. OBI,OBI,OBI,OBI,OBI! The 4 for next year is already on campus. If this kid is healthy I believe he will make us all very proud. Look for JJ to have a great senior year. I feel bad for the kid as UB has not given JJ the support he deserves. This kid turned down some big time ofers to attend SLU and look where it has gotten him. I for one will be his biggest fan next season. JJ and OBI will wreck at the 4 next season. I love Luke Meyer but not at the 4 next season. LM is just not a 4. This team will be much stronger with LM playing the 3 next year.
  3. I agree some what. Frustrations was everywhere not long ago. KL & TL are still freshman and will be up and down. But the key is they know they are starters and can play through their mistakes. Coach is sticking with LM no matter what happens on the floor. That was not always the case with DP,DB,JJ. It is unfair to say those three have many shortcomings and that's why we were unsuccessful early on with either. It could easily have been one of those three and not LM and we still would have been playing at the level we are now if Brad would have stuck with them the way he has stuck with Luke. LM is good player but even he doesn't have the whole package and has his own shortcomings. UB has been great of late. A10 Coach of the year in my opinion. The players who are getting reduced playing time are doing so because the starters are getting the job done and we are on a roll now. It's not broken so don't mess with it. I like the starting five but DP,DB,VN, JJ,BH all have made contributions to the success of the team this season......
  4. With LM you always know what you will get from him. Nothing flashy just consistent. I can't figure out why he only got 22 mins? Solid effort though with 10 points,4 assist, 3 boards. Great win over a real good team. Curtis Withers will be in the league next year.
  5. Passing the ball around perimeter as the shot clock runs down and just standing around is crazy and ugly basketball. Move, set some picks or something. Soderberg is one conservative dude. That's going to hurt us in the big games down the road.
  6. We can take 2nd. Charlotte will be tough but it can be done. Last year Bills team went to Charlotte and played a great game. I really believe we can finish 18-10 and take 2nd place. Big man on campus is still IV.
  7. I disagree with the claim URI played dirty. Both teams played a tough physical game. That's the way the top teams have to play. The call against Robinson could have gone either way as Lisch jumped in front of Robinson at the last minute. URI is not a dirty team! Great win for SLU. Big man on campus is IV.
  8. DB is not moving well. Play Luke more in the 2nd half. I give DB an A+ for trying but he's a liability waiting to happen.
  9. AD with 8 turnovers is no way a good thing. AD looked like he was playing for Temple. He way just handing the ball right back over. DP,LM,KL all at least 4 turnovers. Great win but the team need to take better care of the ball. It's getting close to win or go home time. Great job by TL, KL and DB off the bench. DB has been great the past few games. Temple defense was just awesome. The finest zone defense you will ever see. Coach Chaney is one heck of a coach. We caught a break in Temple missing 20 three point shots. Our defense had something to do with them missing some of those.
  10. Newborne has nothing to hang his head about and should walk away from the SLU program knowing he helped jump start it. He is a good player and fine human being. I am honored to have been able to watch him play for the Billikens. Good luck in the future VN and MS39120. I know you will have much success in your career. SLU needs more representation from Newborne type. "VN,JJ,DP,DB" go see Glory Road.
  11. Coach Soderberg's beef with JJ is nonsense. It can't be all about practice. JJ has been good at times and JJ has been bad at times. But who on the team hasn't? They all TL,KL,AD,LM,DP,DB,IV, have been up and down at some time this season. JJ has to be perfect it seems. That's just so unfair to JJ. I feel like the kid could have helped contain Plummer today. But Soderberg did say LM was his man no matter what. I like Luke but why not try JJ? Agree constructive criticism should not be considered negativity.
  12. Give the ball to the big fella and we win this.
  13. I like Brad as a coach. His true coaching ability will be tested over the next two years. He will have to put up or get out by then. These will have been with all of his recruits. UB- let the guys play and you will become a excellent coaching prospect for one of the bigtime programs.
  14. JaleJarr- How about pulling them all for defensive lapses. Not just DB or JJ. It's much easier to go for 16 and 18 when you get 30 plus mins each game. For you info the only current lock down defender on the team is Lisch. Never said DB was a lockdown defender did I? Billikan- What you wrote should apply to the every team member and not only DB. It is my opinion DB does most of those when/if given the proper opportunity. What about that t/o involving LM and LK. Where's everyone comment on that. You seem to comment on DB's always. Was that not bad one or was it a good one at a good time??????? Be fair! Anyway right now it will be hard for DB to get minutes. LM, AD spots are taken deservely so. LM has stepped right in and done a superb job and AD is the team leader and the most experience. We need AD on the floor as much as possible. He's one tough a_s dude. TL, KL will always remain on the floor. Give DP his mins back and that leaves little if no time for DB. But the kid deserves better than what he has gotten lately....
  15. Can't no one see what has happen? UB does not give DB the opportunity to stay on the floor. As soon as he miss a shot or has a turnover or gets beat or his man hits a shot he is out of the game for good. DB is a fine talent and deserves better. I watched the game last night and looks like he did a good job for 7 mins. 1 of 2 shots, 2 rebs, 1 asst, 1 turnover. TL, LM, KL, they all had turnovers but the difference is they all got to stay in the game and always does. DB and JJ are the only players Brad will remove for a so call mistake. You can't play like that always looking over your shoulder. DB is a better player than that. Last night when KL attempted to pass to LM and Luke was not looking both no one was sent to the bench. Give DB the same treatment is all I am saying and his play will be better. That's it plain and simply stuff from the BB Scout. Great job by the 2 Freshmen and super job by LM grabbing 9 boards.
  16. Let’s also talk about Luke Meyer not getting any PT. Why not? Luke should be playing just as much as DB,AD,KL plays. He brings smarts, good “Dâ€, rebounds well and can flat out shoot the long ball for this team. Plus Luke’s like having a coach on the floor and if given the opportunity could become a Mike Dunleavy type player. I am very disappointed in Brad for not seeing this in Luke. Brad’s selective memory never ceases to amaze me. Luke was a big part of the success of last season as was Polk but now they are getting screwed over. Get Luke in the game coach………… I was just admiring my above earlier post as I was the one calling for Luke to play now and often. Great job by my man Luke last night. He was everything and more than I expected. Great move by Coach to insert him into the starting lineup. Of course this means that Danny should and will be the odd man out but I am OK with that. Luke is smarter and will not take the risks DB occasionally takes. But it was great to see Danny rooting for Luke knowing his playing time has expired for the season. If Luke plays like this the Bills will have a chance to go dancin (it's possible) or for sure NIT. I say Luke plays 30 mins per game from here on out. Of course the great BB Scout knew it lone ago. ;-)
  17. points off turnovers reads: Xavier - 21 SLU - 2
  18. ian 35 liddell 34 lisch 26 brown 26 johnson 20 Subs: husak 5 polk 10 newborne 10 meyer 16 drejaj 18
  19. Roy- Often I notice you will miss the point. How can you classify a miss shot the same as a turnover. You also really should commend Danny Brown for zero turnovers, yet you focus on 3 misses. If missed shots are the same as turnovers then SLU committed 67 turnovers last night. Dude? Yes I think you are bringing it up to diss DB. My observation are what they are. DB has 0 turnovers in his last two games and IV has 9 turnovers. Looks like DB is making good decisions with the ball.....so I chose to commend him. Go Luke! Go Billikens!
  20. SLUFAN- How did you know it was me? Then you also know my two-year record of 42-20 at Dayton is pretty damn nice heading into this season. Of yea did you know CBS Sportsline.com and collegeinsider.com chose me as their 2004-05 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year. Plus I am to to darn pretty for SLU... Tough loss last night for my Flyers, losing a close one to Temple. Oh yea tell Brad to listen to BB Scout. He knows his ######! Luv ya- Coach Gregory
  21. 9. "RE: Princeton /Air Force style" In response to message #8 Former Air Force coach Chris Mooney Richmond Spiders team will be tough to beat at home. They run that slow down Princeton offense and play very good defense. The Bills must be very discipline with all the cuts and backdoors they will see and must defend the three point line. Richmond will read your defense the way Tom Brady reads a defense in football. Since Danny Brown played at Air Force he should be familiar with the Princeton style offense and might be our best defender against it. DB might have another breakout game playing against one of his former coaches. Let’s hope so….Bills by 6! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe I should have sent my earlier above post to Coach Brad. It’s obvious once you run an offense like the Princeton style and have success you will stick with it. Hell just look at the current Air Force team winning record (15-2). Watching the game last night it looked like all Richmond did was back door, cut and shoot 3’s. Looks and sound like the princeton offense to me. Chris Mooney is a young hot coaching prospect and will not be at Richmond long. The PACK DEFENSE killed us last night. No way should Richmond have gotten that many open looks. Why would you double down in the post for the hell of it. That starting lineup UB put out their hurt even worse. What’s up with that? This was a very winnable game and I blame COACH as much as the players. I new it wouldn’t be easy but we should have won found a way to get the job done. We have 39 turnovers in our last three games! I checked the stat sheets and IV is leading the way with 9-t/o, TL has 7-t/o, DP has 5-t/o’s. Those guys must take better care of the ball since it is in their hands the most. DB has committed 0 turnovers in either of the last 2 games. Many of you harped on DB for being t/o happy in the past. Maybe look at him. And yes DB should have been familiar with the Richmond/Princeton /Air Force style offense from his days at the AF. Great to see Luke get some solid minutes. Luke deserves to play more minutes since UB can’t figure out his rotation. Luke has the skills to help this team get going. It is my opinion that Luke should be one of the first guys off the bench. Just as I was right on the Princeton/Air Force posting I am right on this call. Liddell is young and just had one of those off nights. He will be fine next time out..... They may want to start listening to THE BB SCOUT!
