How does Newborne look? JJ?

Well we will definitely need more out of Ian than you expect. He needs to average 10 pts. and 8 boards to have a good junior year. I think he is very capable of this.

Just like the irony of hearing selected people dog the communication and marketing of the athletic dept. and the practice facilities of west pine along with duel site home games, radio affiliation, attendance, student support and some regional recruiting. However, Guy Phillips is not good enough to call the home games. Laughing.

Guy does a fine job adding much needed wit to some slow games. Like him or not, he is a STL celeberty. I love the U-man, but I don't think "Billiken nation" is in a situation to be picky. Be glad we have him.

Muse is starting his second year at Mineral Area College. I did thier team physicals Monday and got to talk some good hoops. Muse is looking at Illinois, Mizzou, and USC among others. He said he will sign before to long but grades are a factor.

With Sept. right around the corner, I haven't heard any updates on Obi. Is he in the gym? If he's not running the floor by now it could be redshirt time. Any info would be nice.

On the sirius website it gives the schools that sirius has a deal with. Although there are 9 from the A-10, SLU is not one. However, we might get the games against those 9 teams. On a sad note, the MVC has 6 with sirius deals. Come on SLU.

This could be a joke or old news. Either or, I haven't heard it. There was a post on STL.com that said Ty Cochran from Waterloo CC transfered to SLU. Is there any truth to this or is this a joke that I do not get. Fill me in.

Seriously Taj, It wasn't thier job last year to knock down the mid-range. IO and Reggie were taking most of the shots. Our motion O will be more upbeat this year and Obi would not even be in STL if he didn't possess these kind of skills.

I wish the schedule would come out so we can start making some predictions. It's got to be close.

If SLU plays motion with a high-low setting, Ian, JJ, and VN can all hit the mid-range. Obi is supposed to have touch as well. We'll be fine.

There is nothing wrong with a little flare. I come to notice the teams with the most high flying athletes usually play late into March.

I hope you're right about SIU-C. I'm sick of SLU losing to a mid-major every year. I don't care how many tournaments they've been to, still a mid-major lower than SLU on the totem pole.

I agree JJ needs some work. However, this is not the staffs fault. Anyone who knows hoops could teach JJ 3 basic post up moves. I'm sure they are worked on in practice. They just need to be incorporated into scrimmage.

I talked to a person from Savis and it was said that the Nov. 22 date is @ the family arena for sure. A date in Jan. is also going to be played in St. Chuck due to another event scheduled @ savis.

Shouldn't Obi be arriving soon. Is he ready to run with the other guys or is there still rehab to do?

The dog days of no hoops. Some one has to know something. Scheduling, recruiting....Bueller...Bueller.

I'm as optimistic as they come. A .500 year is what we're probably looking at. Iowa, Zags, @UNC, @Ole Miss, SIU, @Hawaii, @UWM -- The Bills have to win three of these to go .500. All in all a great building year for a tourney run next year. The guards will be fine with a few growing pains. Hopefully Ian keeps developing. This year is all about the 4. "Hey JJ, ball up bro. We need ya!"
