-that this could happen is downright amazing in a terrible, terrible way -sorry to repeat, but when ub landed these two, i thought we had turned a BIG corner
-
-can someone help me on this one, i noticed this a couple of times last night...does Cassity too often catch the ball and the first move is with both hands on the ball going to the floor, bent over, not in a triple threat position? -my wonder is does this happen more often than not which impacts his ablity to catch and shoot, drive, or pass quickly? -or is it a function of where the passes to him are thrown forcing him to catch low?

-i don't think guy is horrible all the time, but he has his moments -are you sure it was his mistake on the announcement about the Anthem? -i understand he said the words, but i would believe he only reads what he is given, and whoever gave him the script and timing for everything last night did a not so good job -now, if that is his responsibility, squarely on his shoulders -
depends what % of the gate he gets
-
no doubt about it - are there tourneys other than the EHSYT taking place???

-what a fun game to attend (i'll refrain from any comments about whoever was trying to run the non ball parts of the game, wow, maybe the regular person was home for the holidays) -there were more than spurts tonight of the Blls looking like we knew what we were doing -the key is to follow it up against UNC.................A&T -Willie, say no more -not sure why BT did not get more clock, his minutes tonight were productive imo, i wanted to see some more -contributions from everyone and some timely stops and baskets to not allow the lead to go under 10pts and rick i think put the team to the test a few times when it got to a 10 point game and he could have called to's but he let the guys on the floor respond and they did, a potentially great sign -we scored 81 points with KL having 1 fg and a poor team 3pt fg%, you could have owned my house as i would have never bet on that being possible -grow from this one guys, follow it up with the next one, and the next one, and so on..... -

Greatest Billiken Game You've Been To

-i know it says game, but i am not able to pick just one -Arena Days (biased in part because i loved the Arena/Checkerdome/Arena, if you treated those barteneders right you could get a great drink!!!) -don't remember the opponent, slu won and they did not many that year, but my grade school played before the game and we got to meet the team -vs cinny, spoon vs huggins, they were ranked, sold out, great atmosphere -sr night for highmark/claggett/waldman etc (i think) right after the game spoon grabs the pa mike (from the guy that used to say 3 point basket by -e-r-w-i-n c-l-a-g-g-e-t-t, loved that guy) and told the crowd to give the players another ovation as groups like them don't come along too often Kiel Auditorium Days -vs X with Bonner vs Strong, this was a couple of games, the battles they had were fierce -really any game there as it was such a neat bldg Kiel/Savvis/Scotttrade -vs Lvlle when they were #2, that was good -cusa tourney after jeff harris' last game he came around and shook the hand of everyone in the place, that was cool -vs memphis with penny, i think it was a sat afternoon game and they should have killed us but we won (or at least that is what i remember) -with romar we beat someone ranked and i remember being there late and watching him and his wife (beautiful) and kids walking off the floor, that was cool Family Arena -nit vs iowa and the no charge call Chaifetz -these are just beginning -there are certainly some i am forgetting and some where i mis-remembered -
-this must be wrong then!!!! -actually roy, we agreed on scheduling not that long ago -we are not always on opposite sides, it just seems that way
-
-that would be real good
-
-awesome, i look fwd to it
-
-to me there is a hierarchy of teams and where they stand in the whole scheme of things -roy used the term big time, so i'll assume this is the top of the chart, best of the best, highest of the high, and agree marq would not make this cut -the big timers, at least to me, would be, in no certain order, ucla, unc, ky, duke, ku - there could be more, but probably not many -my criteria for big time or highest of the high include multiple championships from more than one class, consistent ncaa tourneys and more than occassional deep runs, recency of success and conf success -marq might make the next level, but probably would be in 3rd level, which is still way up there relative to a slu, but this is going to change
-
-no doubt, and if the first option isn't there let's have KL find an open spot at the 3 pt line for a secondary option -i think my biggest hope for the new year (starting with tomorrow) is that with our new bldg we protect our home floor -kent st has already beat us at home, i would really love for teams, esp a10 teams, to hate to play us in our place, to expect to lose -let's develop an unbeatable presence at home, run off a l-o-n-g streak of wins at home, make the chaifetz arena a true home court advantage for many, many years

I'd say we fire (as quickly as possible) any coach who does not try to "recruit over" every player on his roster - from skip amen Billikan, amen Skip I would bet every coach makes some kind of promise to some kid at one time or another. -from Skip - i hope the only promise is that a kid could compete for playing time. i also think there is a difference between a promise and an expectation.
-
-72, no attack or anything intended to you or anyone, so recruiting and signing the best possible players is now "recruiting over" the current players? -is this "recruiting over" new jargon for what i believe to have been going on forever and that is recruiting?

-i have no idea what monroe douglas is doing these days -i would love to see a company or a person buck up so we could see every game, how much would you pay to be assured of seeing every away game? -
-what is the definition of "recruiting over" a player?
-
what is your point here?

-i am not sure even if someone/some company wanted to the a10 tv contract would allow for this during this season, but i am not sure of that, but i believe it has been said the a10 tv contract expires after this season so hopefully something better will be on the way (it could be worse, but not much) -so assuming something could be done, you are looking for someone to underwrite the costs of producing slu away games not already scheduled to broadcast? -finding that golden pocket would be fantastic, the last company that seemed to spend a lot of advertising dollars becasue it was slu was fusz automotive, remember brad and family in the commercials, the fusz line has almost every make of car, how many of us have bought a car from a fusz dealership and told them i had many choices where to buy my vehicle but i bought from fusz because you support slu? -heck, charter put some games on their station, had a sponsorship on the court and routinely got bashed on this board -i think the number on Dr Chaifetz's naming rights donation was $12 mil, thanks again Dr Chaifetz!!!! -how much would you pay to be able to watch every slu away game? i counted 13 on the schedule -
-imo make no promises other than you can compete for playing time; playing time is not given, it is earned -imo go get the best players available to fill the roster, being careful not to overload on types of players, not necessarily positions -as we have seen, and not just with cotto, players leave for whatever reasons, you have to be able to not have a fall off when this happens -for how long now has our limited roster been a hinderance?? finally i sense this is changing -in my mind the term "recruit over" seems to only apply if a promise is made other than line 1 of this post

Merry Christmas to all here at Billikens.com May Santa bring our teams bunches of wins, good grades and good health.
-
-i really like brett's potential as he has showed flashes of doing things in games that if he progresses he will be a force -hope it doesn't take too much time, but i think he will get there -hang in there with a coach who knows how to develop bigs -be careful what you read hear, sometimes it will not be fit for a family member -i like the change of pace that we have with willie and brett, and hope to see them both on the floor at the same time when that is right
