  1. When the Grizzlies relocated to Memphis one of the demands was that a new arena be built.
  2. The problem with that plan is that CUSA uses a voucher ticket system. The fans of the teams that are playing in their sessions get preferred seating behind or near their team's bench. The team that loses in the afternoon session will not have vouchers for the evening preferred seating. They get general seating. Noramlly this is not a problem for the early games. However, since the Bills are playing Memphis there may not be many available seats. Unfortuantely, I don't have a better plan for you.
  3. Did anybody receive a notice? Who was invited? I am curious how many people were there and what is the thinking about how notices were sent.
  4. It appears the Bills have a very good opportunity to make the confernce tournament. So. Miss. cannot match their record. Tulane is 3 and 11 in the conference. They play Cincy at Cincy on Wed. and finish with E. Carolina at home next weekend. If Tulane and the Bills finish with the same conference record the Bills make the tournament.
  5. We have our hotel reservations made but I am waiting to but tickets until I am positive they make the tournament. I don't know if I am being pessimistic or realistic.
  6. Add to those woes we continually give up offensive rebounds to the opposition.
  7. East Carolina is favored by 1 point in the morning line.
  8. I know what you mean but sometimes there is nothing like bad officiating to really get the crowd into the game.
  9. I am not sure but 3 wins have done it in the past. However, a win over Tulane is big because that could be a potential tie breaker for a higher spot in the conference standings thereby allowing them to get into the tournament over Tulane.
  10. It may be the frustration of the season but I have listened very closely, as well as other people around us, and you are uncannily accurate in your countdowns. Maybe you try to vary the count but you I, and many others, have not noticed the variance.
  11. If they don't throw in the two "no-brainers" we are still sunk.
  12. It was pointed out that Gholson went around I.V. with ease. I did notice that when Husak was in the game Gholson had to alter his shots and some times was forced to pass the ball to someone else when he could not go around Husak. Husak may not be the quickest or smoothest but at times he does change the inside game.
  13. Why does the band accurately count down the shot clock for the opposing team? I don't understand the rationale for that. I don't think it panics the opposition.
  14. I hope you know the answer about who committed to SLU but spent their first year at Barton because I would like to know also. Please share that information. I do know that Whaley committed to Mizzou but spent his first year at Barton then ended up at Cincy.
  15. The problem was that Frericks allowed his man to beat him along the baseline. He is not going to get any help there. Frericks had to protect the baseline and force his man to go in the middle where he could realistically expect some help.
  16. Obviously I have not seen all the posts.
  17. Is the Billiken Club meeting tomorrow night?
  18. I sincerely hope that the Missouri legislature never involves itself in scheduling any athletic competition.
  19. They start with seat number 1 on the right side of the section.
  20. At the Tip-Off club meeting this evening Jim Braun said that game times are subject to be revised.
  21. I am not sure L.R. won a huge recruiting battle for Ryan Hollins. My recollection is that when Hollins committed and signed his L of I to the Bills, he was not a starter on his high school team. He became a starter his senior year and had a great year that raised his value but he was not that highly recruited after his junior year.
  22. Great post. Either the P-D did not report the score of the game or I could not find it. What was the final score?
  23. I received the new Billiken Club Priority Point System today. I was not aware a new system was being considered or formulated and I am curious if anybody was aware a new system was being considered. I am also curious why a new system is needed. I have not reviewed it in detail so I am not sure if it is more equitable or not but my initial reaction is that I don't think it is more equitable to me. I am interested in the reaction of others as to what they think.
  24. I don't want to go back to ancient history but the best beat writer for the Bills, in my opinon, was Ed Wilks.
