I agree, Billiken fans are way too nice. We just don't seem intimidating when we play other teams. Here's what should happen: We should get rid of the bunny rabbit Billiken... and go back to the more dangerous looking mascot with the crooked crown... (that's not a very good version of the old billiken, but he's out there...slu used to sell chemistry tee shirts with the old billiken on it at the end of the 1990s) We need to change the face of this university (literally. no pun intended) so that we seem more competitive/dangerous, athletically. OR if the university keeps trying to make the Billiken look more and more like a rabbit, we should really embrace it and make it look like one of these scary rabbits:

yes, eckerle showed up to the coronado near the end. when i talked to josh he said they were all headed downtown around 11:30. even though he's from st. charles he said he hadn't seen much of the city. he doesn't look that big from far away but up close he's got a wide, tall body. he made my 6'6" friend jake look like a chump (oh wait, he is a chump). when asked if he'll be getting a triple double in billiken blue next season, he said "hopefully." he seemed like he had already made his choice but had no intention of telling it to some squirts at a party.

great, there are pictures of students in there? that's probably not that great of an idea. go into the bookstore sometime and check out the montages on the wall of kids in overalls from the '90s even though the building was built in '03. overalls.

I think the staff and faculty who took my scholarship away would agree with me. And I agree with them. They sure did run that program like a business and Majerus is running his program the same way. Majerus is doing what's right to take this program to the nat'l championship.

My sophomore I was on an acting scholarship at SLU. After that year, they didn't seem to see much in me, so they gave the scholarship to someone younger. It was a competition, just like basketball. What did I do? I went to SLU TV and got a bigger scholarship. These kids can't complain. They were very lucky for a good amount of time. I don't buy the "they made a commitment to SLU, SLU should make a commitment to them" argument. Loads of kids at SLU make commitments to SLU, their choice. SLU doesn't owe them anything free. SLU is a business looking for the best talent. I'm glad to see the "heart-break Bills" will be a thing of the past very soon.

some of the outcry about this situation is ridiculous. these players were pretty awful and not what we're looking for to create a big time program that's going to take us deep into the tourney. some of you are obviously not tired of seeing the billikens sitting out in march. if you don't get a 3.0 gpa for certain academic scholarships, you lose 'em. not really a big difference here. these kids just didn't get a 3.0 in basketball.

Speaking of redesigning the Billiken... About 3 years ago they changed the head and now it looks more like a rabbit than a Billiken! It has a turned up nose and huge pointy ears. Whoever did that did an awful job. It's not dangerous looking at all. If we're not going to go back to the dangerous looking Billiken with the crooked crown, at least go back to the Billiken from the '90s, not this stupid rabbit-looking mascot we have now.

I have word from a SLU employee that Majerus stuck up a middle finger in the direction of the Charlotte scorers' table. Not sure if it was directed to them or the students behind the table.

The lights should NOT just go off during the intros...the lights on the crowd should be OFF the ENTIRE game. I don't come to watch all the old goons from the suburbs sitting on their rears the entire game, i come to watch basketball. Whoever is in charge of lights needs to learn how to dramatize an event. Turn off the house lights ASAP!
