  1. cbssports.com has VCU -8.5, o146.

    ESPN.com concurs:  VCU -8.5.

I don't think VCU is that good.  Havoc (Gimmick, not that it was good) is gone, and this is a very different type of VCU team.  We'll see if VCU is still allowed to check the SLU point guard in open court, plain view.  Once the refs in Albany, NY immediately blew the whistle on that tactic in last year's NCAA Tourney game vs. St. Mary's, VCU was toast, lost by double digits.

If the good Billikens show up tonight, SLU could win this game.  Do it.

Why should WCC teams want to face a team currently ranked around the 200 mark, with no at-large bid for the past decade? That plays in a conference that currently has roughly the same rating as Mo Valley?

    You would be surprised.

Nice catch Bay Area..This is huge for the WCC..   Any word on Grand Canyon???

Saw where Oregon State and Washington State agreed to schedule like 5 or 6 games against MWC schools and the MWC said they will schedule games against the 2 also..

Will the Pac 2 just quit to exist??

The WCC wants to get from 9 to 12 teams, is about to reach 11 for 2 years with the additions of Wash. State and Oregon State. The expansion candidates mentioned are SeattleU (a former WCC member and Jesuit school), Denver, and Grand Canyon in Phoenix. The PAC 2 (Wash. State and Oregon State) have 2 years to reestablish the PAC, in the meantime have entered into a Football scheduling agreement with the Mountain West to each play 7 Mountain West schools (and each other) in Football. Both have agreements to continue playing their instate football rival, Washington and Oregon, respectively.

Margin of victory/loss isn't used in the NET rankings formula.

    Actually it is.

    https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2022-12-05/college-basketballs-net-rankings-explained

"The NET includes more components than just winning percentage.  It takes into account game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses."  Source is the above link from the NCAA, bold print added for emphasis.
