  1. No way NW leaves the Big 10 or Duke the ACC. The same for U of IL.
  2. My guess is they could use adjuncts or maybe offer a financial incentive for some to stay or even pay to have those who have one year left to go someplace else if necessary.
  3. They have been in financial distress for some time now - like any situation like this eventually you just can't keep the lights on. I have a niece whose husband in finishing up next year at the school so thankfully he can finish without having to transfer someplace else, but I do feel sorry for those who can't finish by next year.
  4. God I hope not but if they are also waiting to see what happens with ISU then who knows it could go into the following week.
  5. That was why he left us for Loyola - he could have waited around a year and had our job but she wanted back. I wondered how going to OK was going to work out.
  6. Why Frank of course - is he even still on?
  7. Has anybody gone to ISU fan board to hear what they are saying or are they quiet?
  8. So did you just make an argument for why a guy like Shertz(?) would come here?
  9. Yes there are pro sport athletes who do not manage their money well but I would not compare a basketball coach to them. The coach has had to work his way up so he has a bit more experience in life to not make those kinds of mistakes. Yes millionaires go broke - happens all the time with lottery winners but once again a person winning the lottery may not have had the opportunity to learn better habits. Ford was smart enough to downsize a couple of years ago as his family got smaller so he has shown a certain about of financial acumen or at least he is smart enough to have someone advising him and he listened. If he has been living paycheck to paycheck then he is not the kind of man I want as our head coach or leading young men - we need someone who is smarter than that. As far as respecting him in tough times - tough times are relative. Him losing his 2.5 million a year job is hardly a tough break especially since he has been earning well for many years. If he spent it all then this is his fault not ours. I once told someone that they are getting well paid but they will take every penny out of your hide - he later told me I was right. Nobody pays very well without expectations so Ford got the money and he did not meet expectations so it is hardly a tough break.
  10. The guy has made multi millions so unless he just spent like a drunken sailor don't worry about him - he will be fine.
  11. Of course, a coach can use any potential offer as leverage for a salary raise.
  12. Honestly I never thought they would fly from there. A bus trip seemed reasonable to me.
  13. Portapotties are usually on a contract with the company who owns them and they are suppose to service them. Not sure what the contract calls for.
  14. If true, I agree it does make sense - actually I would do it now. I wonder if they already have had conversations with a potential coach and they want to beat others to the punch. They may want to be able to go as soon as that guy is done with his tourney and not get caught in the coach rush.
  15. The Sabbath is for miracles
  16. Well they already are in the State of NY so why come home for 2 days. Take a bus from StB to NYCity.
  17. If May turned the money down last year to keep Ford then he is not in position to do it again if he wants to keep his job. If the money as Tilly says is there then May will have no choice but to dump Ford as the only means to keep his job.
  18. Getting caught up in a scandal is like flaming out in my mind. Wgstl gave a good reasoning argument.
  19. I am just trying to understand why some think Mack would be a good hire. Didn't he flame out at Louisville? I know he was successful at X. Just wondering what people are thinking.
  20. If tonight's game plan is what Ford has planned for his big plan for next year then I am not interested.
  21. Ok - I respect your situation.
  22. No it is not - can you cite examples of this?
