  1. Taj Mahal, I wasn't plagarizing. You just edged me out. But this is a discouraging situation. Maybe they should have a bikini night on Mardi Gras.
  2. Way to go 05, but you're preaching to the choir on this forum. Send this to the SLU newspaper. A sports reporter for the SLU news should get permission to do a front page article criticizing the kids for not going. When I was at SLU a lot of the kids commuted. I understand that's not the case today. The commuters said I'm going home. But supposedly we've got a larger on campus population these days. Cripes, don't any of these kids watch Duke, UNC, KY games and see what a ball it is to raise the roof for your team. Unreal.
  3. Yeah, this is sad. Finally having made it to the Fetz, Fr. B provided one of the best college arenas in the country to watch a game. I was watching last night and saw those empty lower level seats and was just scratching my head. You want to experience college up front and personal those are the seats to have. C'mon, people, and I know I'm preaching to the choir here, get off the couch and go to some Billiken games. As for the students, WTF? Just can't figure it out.
  4. Oh, Taj Mahal 79, are you knocking the Rammer? That is like taking the name of God in vain.
  5. Is there a link? C'mon, guys, help a brother out here.
  6. score please... just got in from a delayed V day dinner.
  7. I think Jeremy Lin would have been the perfect Billiken. He would have made it big in the NBA had he played for RM. As it is, he's kind of a disappointment. So let's have 8 years of discussion about jeez, if UB had only recruited Lin. And are you sure Ahern didn't play for the Billikens?
  8. No one can say you don't have an eye for the obvious, Moy.
  9. Hey, I said except us. As for a letdown game against Richmond, does anyone think RM will allow that to happen? The only real letdown game we've had all year that I can see was against LMU. And I'll attribute that to being on the friggin road for 9 straight days. I think we have too much bench to suffer a let down game. Someone will step up and prevent it. That said, I am sweating the X game. They will come in fired up knowing they need a W at the Fetz to have any shot at the dance other than winning the A-10 tourney. That'll be a playoff game for them. We'd better treat it in the same manner.
  10. Cowboy, you may be right. But if you were a good mid major (and I'm not sure what you call us anymore) in the beginning of the year and say you're where we are right now, 20-5 w/ 5 games left suddenly you go 3-2 and lose the first game in the tourney. You're 23-8 not a bad body of work if there are no BCS'ers suddenly getting hot, look at Georgia in the SEC as an example. This is what scares me as none of the experts are conceding that the A-10 is a lock to get 2 bids. All it means is we've got to stick to our mantras of , Finish.... finish.... finish.... and Just win, BAby!
  11. I didn't check this out, but am assuming the Nitty Gritty gives high ranks to teams gaining momentum. I've heard this before from the experts who study selection committee choices. They do give a lot of weight to how a team is playing in the last month of the season. If a team is on a nice roll, especially if they're a BCS'er, they're gonna get an invite. The logic is the committee wants the best teams in March playing for the championship. Kind of a, "what have you done for me lately" scenario. This is why we have to sustain this streak we're on. Not saying we necessarily have to go undefeated, but we don't want any back to back upset losses at this point. Can't afford them.
  12. Wow, your moniker, Billsrmajic, is spot on. We would need some real majic to make the final 4. Don't want to be a nabob of negativity, West Pine Jim will understand that, but despite some surprise teams making the final 4, it largely remains the domain of the rich elitist BCS'ers. Not saying it's out of the question, afterall, my Giants came from 7-7 to win the SB so I do believe in miracles, but this is a different breed of cat. Our local sports show here in Charleston did a call in poll a couple of weeks ago and asked the question; Would you rather have your pro football team win the SB than your favorite college team win a national championship in FB or BB. Now, being in SC where FB rules the day, most answered they'd rather have Clemson or USC win the FB championship. Since, my favorite FB team had already won the SB 3 times, I voted to see my alma mater win the BB national championship. Why? It is probably a gazillion times harder for SLU to ever win it than your favorite pro team to win a SB championship. That wouldn't hold true for a fan of KY, Duke, UNC, etc, because they expect to win it every year, kind of like Bama FB, but for a fan of little ol' SLU to have the Bills win a national championship in BB? Hands down, the thrill of a lifetime. Even making the final four would be a greater thrill than my favorite FB team winning the SB.
  13. Big Al, NC to Philly? Retirement's fun ain't it?
  14. A little stuffy, but classy, "Ode to Joy". There's a lyric about rising above the starry canopy where our father (RM) dwells. And Lord knows we'll all be well above the starry canopy if we make the dance. The Doors, Break on Through might not be too bad either. I know the latter would get West Pine Jim's vote. Triple ninja'd WPJ!
  15. Does anyone really want the dreaded 5 seed? That position should be relabeled as UPSET SPECIAL. There always seems to be 2 12's that win in those 4 games. Don't want it, it's jinxed.
  16. I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but I just don't see Temple losing to anyone but us in the A-10 tourney.
  17. I noticed we went 2-0 in Philadelphia to break the Taj Mahal 79 curse. You deserve 3 ninjas, Taj.
  18. Lunardi shows A-10 getting only 2 bids after Saturday. In a way, this is good, since I think if X were to wint the A1- tourney, we'd still be going if we just keep winning. Wiz, why isn't Temple cracking the top 25? Will they since Harvard and Creighton both lost? And, Wiz, right now I'm glad we're not playing Mizzery anywhere. Hate to say it, but the Tigers are a damn good team and capable of beating anyone.
  19. I maybe wrong, but in past years when we had the Blue Crew, they would post on here and tell us what they were doing to get students to the game. Not so much from who's ever top dog with the SLUNATICS (like this name better). But this week, even though it's not X and Temple and ESPN's cameras won't be there, SLUNATICS should be out in full force and show the Bills some appreciation for their work this season. C'mon, people, we are knocking on Heavens Door for the first time in 11 years, it's time to get excited! Da Vola/Da Love, Eastside, and Backhand need to get a little more fired up as well. Suggestion, give West Pine Jim the Dickie V ride around the Fetz.
  20. Thanks for the links for us out of towners. Actually, that Ohulz thing is not too bad. Picture last night was as HD as my TV.
  21. I forgot about that assist to Conk. Thing of beauty that was.
  22. All the good ones are, Redbird. And no, Broy, just throwing a little Billiken valentine Redbird's way. And my wife would be throwing a lot more than a valentine my way if she thought I was hitting on Redbird Fan. I'm still up in the air 'bout the X game, but am leaning more towards an AC trip. I like Lunardi's brackets, because he's got the Bills first game in Columbus, and I'll definitely be there if that comes to pass.
