Frank was at the game and was VERY impressed with Parker. Hed discussed it with Rammer on his show this morning on 590 AM. He talked about what an unbelievable squad we would have next year if Perkins returns, with Parker, Perkins, Nesbitt and Jimmer not to even mention Collins. I'm sure it has been covered on Billikens.com but I had forgotten that Parker will have 3 years of eligibility at SLU

I don't disagree with you about how it will probably work out, however, watching the students it sure seemed like they were having a ball as they should have. Why would you not want to show up after tonight? What else would you be doing when the LaSalle and St. Joe's games are played ? It's not like a few years ago when you had to endure catching a school shuttle to and from Kiel ! Now all they have to do is walk 1/4 mi with friends and have some fun yelling for 2 hours. Many (most?) of them couldn't tell a Bonnie from a Hawk. Ford does more to get student support than any coach I can ever remember. It's time for them to pay him back by supporting the school's team.

Good for them (the students). Now if they will just repeat it in the remaining games, that would be great.

I hope there isn't a food giveaway or if there is, that you get it as you leave the building, once the game is over. I am so sick of seeing the student section filled at the beginning of games only to lose at least half of the students at halftime. It really hacks me off, especially at the games where student athletes are honored at halftime and immediately leave.

Nobody in the A 10 travels like Dayton. They will be there.

I hope the weather allows us to pack the Fetz. for this game. We need to come out in force to drown out the SVU crew.

I hope your are right, but with only two teams ahead of us in the current NET-Davidson, 38, VCU 53- I find it hard to believe we can get close to top 25. While the Wiz might be the only poster who can figure out NET, I think we need some better wins than our remaining schedule would allow, to get to top 25 land. If we can go 15-3 or better in Conference then we will see.

Then why isn't he making them? We need him in the 40-44% range to win the Conference. I used to feel confident when he put up a shot from the arc, now not at all.

I really hope all the "we will get in with a 15-3 A 10 regular season record" are right. First let's get that 15-3 or better Conference record and put some pressure on the Committee. Here is definitely a case where I would like to be wrong.

While it would be nice, winning all our A 10 games and then losing in the Conf Tour. isn't going to get us to a 25ish NET or not even close.

BB40, I agree with you and am not blaming the Comt. We are responsible for our record and failed when we needed to succeed (at least 2 of 3 in the Belm., UASB, Aub trio) What all the 15-3 or better posters seem to ignore is the fact that if we don't get the A 10 automatic bid, that means we have lost our last game (the L in the Conf. tourn.} As we saw from an earlier post, the 1 pt win, at home, against IONA did not move the NET needle, which means to me that it will also not be given much credit by the Sel Comt.

72, you are absolutely correct. We need to win the A 10 tourney to get in the NCAA. I have been saying that since our losses to Belmont, UAB and Auburn. Others seem to feel we can get in with a 15-3 or 16-2 Conference record. Listening to all the Selection Comt. members talk after the NCAA is set each year and all they seem to talk about is good wins or bad losses. My point is that we have and will not have, any notable or "good wins." That ship has sailed. If our best win is at Boise State, that is not one that anyone will be talking about. Neither will a 1 point win at home over a MAAC team, even if it is the best MAAC team. We had a chance to build a resume early in the season and didn't do it, so beating up on weak A 10 teams and beating the mid-level (SBU, Richmond, VCU, Davidson, Dayton) teams isn't going to help our image as for as the Sel. Comt. is concerned. Too many NCAA slots are already taken by the image of too many P-6 schools Obviously, some posters disagree, but I don't want to be in the bubble team grouping on Selection Sunday and hoping to hear our name called. The only way to not being in the bubble category is to win the Conference tourney, otherwise we are leaving our fate in the hands of a P 6 group of administrators.

A question donors might struggle with; Do I give to a University fund raising effort, for example the new Athletic Building or do I give to an NIL fund which can help recruiting? This could have serious impacts on future SLU fundraising. If I am one of the big multi-car, multi location car dealerships, so i want my $50,000 donation to just be reflected on a wall in the new building which lists donors, but will never be seen by the general public or do I want to. pay a local star a total of $10,000 to appear at 10 of my dealerships for one hour each to sign autographs and be in pictures with kids of potential car customers?

Besides Ellie and Nina, that Sporting STL (which has always played as the Red Devils) team is loaded with D 1 signees, As best I know, they have at least 1 each on D 1 scholarships to Mich, Iowa, Nebraska (Omaha), Col of Charleston and Bellarmine with some of their rising Juniors (in addition to Nina) being heavily recruited by some big D 1 programs. I think that team has won 4 straight Missouri Cups.

Losing ML next year, I would not have a problem if JB decides to return to SLU keeping the 3-headed monster for the 4/5 spots, although I don't see JB as a 4, but he does provide relief at the 5 . I can see LT as getting some minutes at the 4 next year, same with AL.
