Picking up Howard is BIG, especially now with Kelly leaving. Howard has tremendous ball skills and a powerful shot. I think she will step in as a starter quickly, if not at the start of the year.
I have to believe that she was one of our top 2 or 3 recruiting targets coming out of high school and a big disappointment when she chose Wis.

@Pistoland I have been joking every time we see Duff post about his daughter at Clemson "when is she gonna transfer home?" Wouldn't be her as Clemson is still alive in the Final Four.
She has the total package, skills, size, aggressiveness and instincts.

Well I appreciate your loyalty and commitment to the Billikens (that's why we all come here) even if I don't agree with your methods or think that they are necessary. I think changes will happen. The people who the changes are going to happen to might even realize that they will occur. If these changes are already going to occur, I just think that your actions are adding unnecessary embarrassment to folks who, regardless of the results, were giving their best effort at making a program we love successful. Did it work out? No. Were they really, truly trying to make it work out? Yes. Are their transgressions worthy of the public embarrassment you are attempting to put them through? No.
Agree about the embarrassment effort by going into a 21st birthday celebration for his son. Really a punch below the waist.
A- Bomb, an interesting point is that it was not a team party event as many others were in attendance. Your effort in this mission seems to be well thought out but using that item in your email as a reason for Ford's ouster is not up to the standard of the rest of your goal

Also Gibby 1 attempt in 25 mins?
TF?????
He was out on the wing behind the arc but wasn't getting any passes. I know Parker is getting lots of praise but at some point he has to actually pass the ball. Once he gets the ball no matter where he is, he is going to get a shot.
The refs were bad, yes, but the announcing team was worse-just pitiful-a disgrace to ESPN.

Gaebe is a goal scoring machine.

Since the official SLU website doesn't include incoming recruits until school starts, where does a fan go to see all of the new recruits?
It seems like Pistol used to list them at the top of the recruiting year, but it's no longer there. Instead there is loads of info on players we had some interest in but who went elsewhere. It would be nice to see all of our new signees in one place instead of having to search through multiple pages to find "welcome" threads for each individual

Hoping this recruiting class is enough to produce Guy P.'s resignation.

So if the PAC12 is imploding, where will Cal and Stanford go? With Cal's and Stanford's academic credentials, I would guess B10?
They also have Wash St and Ore St to deal with

For a fan base that holds the likes of locals Chris Sloan and Luke Meyer in such high regard, some of the derangement over Yuri is truly strange to me.
Why would it be strange? Is that a serious comment? When you are the key player on the local D1 team and hold them hostage for a ransom payment, you should expect some blowback. The situation gets even worse when you underperform in that ransomed year.
And why do you refer to Sloan and Meyer, but not Larry Hughes, or Roland G or M. Douglass or Erwin C, all of whom are locals and held in "high regard" by Billiken fans?

I can't follow his journey of schools. Where all has he played and how many years does he have left to play?

Yeah, Tennessee is still looking for somebody to back up Zakai Zeigler.
He's not going to get much in the way of NIL $$$ if they are looking at him as a back-up.
-
Yuri's main problem isn't going to go away. He needs to grow 3-4 inches unless he becomes much quicker and a much, much better shooter. If none of these happen he is never going to play in the NBA.
I hope he gets a nice NIL gig at a P5 school which needs a one year fix at PG.

I didn't think Jess Preusser was staying in the program-that she had graduated early and was leaving.

I think he is going to be sorely disappointed.

Actually, IMO he is making a mistake leaving college basketball after this year. Too small and not a good enough shooter to make the NBA or the sub-NBA. Lower level Europe or Aussie league at best. He might do better financially on NIL $$$ at SLU and getting a post-college job in the area.

You forgot some Kramer, Hughes, and Thames.
I like the local talent but I don’t like the head coach.
Chris Beard got his walking papers take a big risk and see what he can do with the home grown talent.
This years' Fr class, the 3 you mentioned, is probably the weakest group of recruits in many of years. No way they carry us to anywhere close to an A 10 title or an NCAA at large bid in the next 3 years. This might be the Billikens' ceiling for a while-mid level A 10

Yeah man it’s the music. Glad we got that figured out!
Not like every other team does the same thing for intros.
Ya right, all the top recruits we have been signing have gone home from their recruiting visits talking about how cool the intro video was and how great it would be if they could be in future videos. I thought listening to May, that the reason we are getting top recruits is the new building in the athletic area.
Now it's like the old movie line. Show me the money. If we are getting our recruits, high school or transfer portal, and they are not getting any NIL money, then it's like another old line. You get what you pay for.
Oh well, at least we have 2 good soccer programs.

Exactly... extremely overrated. Unknown is what he'll become if he keeps playing like this...
One thing he won't become is an NBA player.

Seemed like both Okora and forrester were out there for longer stretches tonight. Not up and down on the bench every foul or bad play. Seemed to help Okora get in the flow.
I am really sick of Ford doing his best "Rich Grawer imitation" pulling guys out of the game whenever they make a mistake, which i believe is terrible for team and individual morale.

It’s always good for the program to receive individual recognition. Everyone can’t always be recognized..
Top Drawer Soccer Best 11 Nationally, Lyndsey Heckel made the 3rd team.
TDS top postseason top 100:
Heckel 31
Miller 60
Kelly 62
Congrats, ladies. Well done this season.
-
And how crazy was it that Heckel was All A 10 last year and not even on the preseason list this year. Kind of shows how bad those pre-season list can be. Not even pre-season A 10 but 1st team AA and MAC Herman Award semi finalist at the end of the year.
The best thing is, she is coming back next year
-
It might have just been Ath Director talk, but when I watched the game replay this morning, C. May said we have the #1 D 1 recruiting class for next season. If that's anywhere close to correct then the program is almost back .
