If you look at Gonzaga's last 25 years they made the NCAAs every year (minus the Covid year).
Monson's last year at Gonzaga (98-9) made it to the elite 8.
With Mark Few, he has made it every year (24 yrs) with 8 sweet sixteens, 2 elite eights & 1 runner up.
That's unreal record in anyone's conference puts them at huge advantage.
The issue with the A10 is if a coach gets good they leave. Both Few and Bennett are in for the long haul.

Sure I love for Belmont to join but they usually are not very good, they draw poorly and play in a HS gym.
Grab Bradley. In my day at SLU it was our #1 rival. They are decent team, rich basketball history and they draw well (would be above average for the A10). You can still get from St Louis up to Peoria the same day for a mid-week evening game. I did it plenty of times when they played in the old Robertson Field House.

Dayton should no way be #1
I realize pre-season polls mean squat. Who do you believe will be #1?
Dayton's OOC schedule alone gives them a added boost in the NET rankings. All they have to do is be .500.
We are going to get killed with all the junk we are playing in OOC. It just comes down to the league with us.

We attended the City game last season in Nashville. I agree the stadium is top notch, but the parking certainly isn’t. Reminded me of parking in a field at a State Fair. I can’t imagine the mess there would be if the fields had been muddy. Egress was a pain too.
You are correct, the parking blows. Found out the hard way 2 years ago when we parked on the speedway track. Took over an hour to get out the Fairgrounds Speedway. Plus the parking cost me more then the game tickets.
After that we park in a AMC Movie Theater lot and uber in. It's about 2 miles from the stadium. Problem is to get a uber to pick you up might take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour with all the post game congestion. Many times waited in Santa's Pub which is across the street from the Stadium. When we went to the Inter-Miami game a few weeks ago we walked it back rather than wait for an uber, took maybe 35 minutes.
BTW: I also was at that St Louis game last year, you all had a nice turn-out.

We can quibble over individual plays but there's no question in my mind that MLS keeps getting better as an on-field product. This league has made big strides. It's worth watching, even if it still has a long way to go.
I split FC Cincinnati season tickets with a friend and watch as many City games as I can.
And my interest keeps going up now that City has two Billikens on the roster (and FCC has one in Kipp Keller).
I make about 4-5 Nashville SC games a season. Even though they s**k this year they are a lot of fun to watch. The stadium, Geodis Park, is soccer specific & only 3 years old, seats 30,000 and the amenities are nice. Amazingly they pack it usually at capacity for each match.
The MLS has a good strong franchise here in Nashville.

These are the kinds of offers that high school kids outside the top 300 receive in the portal era. You can always get a more highly regarded player who has warmed the bench for a year at a high major.
Unfortunately, true.
If Luke has a stellar year at one of these low-majors, he will be gone.
Curious, the bronco and the husky dog, what schools do they represent? I guess that's not the UCONN Husky

My son had a few youth basketball games there this year. Holy cow, what an athletic facility they have!!!
I always thought Principia was a seminary. Just looked it up, it's not
They are flushed with money. For only 350 students and being a small liberal arts school they have a endowment of almost $700 mil. Not too shabby. Put many much larger A10 schools to shame in endowments.

I would prefer to think that the 5’9 scoring guards in the A10 should be more worried about how they can guard us.
remember Chaz Williams?

Jayson Tatum just signed a five-year $314M extension. I wonder if the exact amount of the deal was a nod to his hometown.
I see that the Celtics are now up for sale.

There have been VERY few mid majors (not low majors) getting at large bids in recent years. The mid-majors are the ones that have historically made the deep runs. Need to find a way to get more of them (Teams from Non P6 leagues with sub TOP 60 NET) into the Dance.
An exception, the Mountain West had 6.

Interesting - but not real encouraging - article on the recent NCAA meetings and the power conferences vs the rest:
Noticed the Big East was not even included.
Get them along with the A10, Mountain West, AAC, the West Coast & MVC-to form a season ending tourney, I have no problem. Scr** them! I am sure TV and arenas around the country would be more than willing to participate.

What's a AMA?
In my hospital work days (now retired) it meant a patient leaving 'against medical advice'.

Dang, that's right. Here's a list of P5 teams currently not in MTEs that I just put together on my own. We were supposed to play Cinci in the St. Augustine Classic and I believe a few people on here mentioned a desire for those schools to still play this season so my guess as of now is Cinci. Does the Torch consider Cinci to be a "very big time program" though? Probably not:
ACC: Boston College, California, Georgia Tech
Big 12: Cincinnati, Utah
Big East: Butler, DePaul
Big Ten: Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State, UCLA
SEC: Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Missouri
An LA roadtrip during the 2025-26 season to play Loyola Marymount and UCLA (return game after MTE game at Savvis) would be suh weet: Wednesday night at LMU, Saturday at Pauley Pavilion.
Recall earlier posts saying we have Butler & Depaul on the schedule. Is that still a go?

Kind of like when Donovan went to the Thunder.

Any word on the upcoming season schedule? It's like 2 months away, don't we actually have by now?

Not old enough to remember Bill the player but I became a huge fan of Pac hoops because of Bill the broadcaster. Such great positive energy and enthusiasm. William Theodore (which is the same name as my grandfather and now my son) was truly one of a kind! Played a little Grateful Dead and Beach Boys while grilling yesterday in his honor. Not a fan of anyone that feels the need to go out of their way to trash a person less than a day after dying. I find those people to rank among the most annoying, rivalling Ross Gellar and The Dell Computer Guy.
During my freshman year (70-71) at SLU the Grateful Dead performed at the FOX (this was the old FOX, prior to being renovated) that was sponsored by one of the fraternities. Great concert with Jerry Garcia on guitar and vocals. After that I became a life-long Dead fan.

Sad news. I stayed up way too late on many work nights just to listen to him call games. I know many hate him, but I found him thoroughly entertaining on the ESPN PAC coverage. I will miss him.
Loved those late night Pac12 games with Walton doing the commentary. Made the game so much more entertaining.

I was a season ticket holder back then so I went to both Finals at the Arena. I saw Walton's incredible performance over what at the time was known as Memphis State. I think he shot 19 out of 20 FGs. I seem to remember his miss was a tip in.
For the 1973 NCAA championship it was my JR year at SLU. When I arrived that year for the Fall semester the tickets were on sale for the students at the West Pine Gym Ticket Office. The tickets were incredibly cheap. I recall like $15 or $20 for both the play-in and championship games. Also the seats were decent. Mid-court, 1/2 way up at the old Arena. The games did come over Spring Break.

3-4 years ago this kid never leaves OK. High level recruit. He will get the most freshman minutes on the team, mark it down. He will be a fan favorite for as long as he stays here.
Make sure he has a girlfriend like Gibby.

Darn
Do we still need a point guard? I am guessing McCottery plays point but being a freshman I am a little leery. Shoot for a one-year eligible experienced point guard out the portal would be nice to break in McCottery.
