  1. I haven't to the station really since they took off the foxhole but I know the show with Stull on after the midday show is big time tigers. I know they had a producer or asst that was into SLU and they razzed him all the time. Does anyone know the website for 1380. I have a hard time remebering all the hosts but if I saw their on air roster I could easily point out the big time Mizzou guys.
  2. If Muse was going to be acedemically eligible there would be teams after him. He is big and skilled with a nice body. Hopefully he turns around his acedemics at prep school or JUCO and comes back to St. Louis to play.
  3. Rnk Conference 1 Atlantic Coast 2 Southeastern 3 Big East 4 Big 10 5 Conference USA 6 Pac 10 7 Atlantic 10 8 Big 12 Did you confuse the Big 10?????
  4. Shocking 1380 is pretty much Tiger radio. I can't believe they would allow a pro SLU tirade on the air.
  5. We won't surprise anyone. Hopefully Cincy and L'Ville will overl, ook us but that is doubtful. Those games are going to be dogfights more likely.
  6. Steve I envy you getting to work on the campaign of our next President. What an experience. Keep up the good work.
  7. Does one Iggy have a patent on that handle???? Do you go to all websites where someone uses the name Iggy and call that person an imposter? I like Fritz's myself.
  8. Here is a link to stats for all of his games - http://www.njcaa.org/schmain.cfm?sid=4&div...athleteid=58163 He has had some really big games and some ones where he didn't score at all.
  9. Roy I know you have always been down on the play of Heinrich but as I have said many times he put in alot of work and in the end became a better player than his much talented counterpart Matt Baniak. In the case of Heinrich I think we put too high of expectations on a big man like that. If Heinrich had the agility and skill we all wanted him to have he would have been in the NBA draft not at SLU. Heinrich's first year he was just taking up space but by his senior season he became a defensive force and was an acceptable offensive player. He was obviously not coordinated but he made deliberate moves and found the basket a few times each game. Baniak had the abilities that Heninrich worked on all 4 years to get the moment he stepped foot on campus yet Heinrich was the one starting by his Senior year. As for the two guys we have now. I envision Vouyoukas being a solid offensive big man. He is not fast but around the absket we can tell he hhas got the goods. He will never be a big shot blocker or defensive stopper but it looks like he is a ballhawk as well and is not afraid to throw his weight arounf to get the ball. For Husak I just hope he is a lane clogger. At worst he will be a Billiken Mark Eaton, at best he can be a Jim Mcilvaine type player. It appears though that he does have some coordination and decent running and lateral quickness so I think he will be closer to Mcilvaine.
  10. Parker is averqaging 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists with a steal. He is shooting 49% from the field, 38% from 3 point range and 78% from the line.
  11. Right about Johnson he was in the rotation today along with Ross and Ian was sitting alot more.
  12. Tom and ECU player were jawwing at each other near the Bills sideline and they atleast got chest to chest if they weren't outright shoving each other. I was surprised there was no call or at least a warning there on both players. Then as said before they was talking and shoving while waiting for a FT attempt. Soderberg did the right thing in removing Tom immediately. Gotta love that attitude, we are a bunch of fighters out there. Tom is really really tough. He is quickly becoming my favorite Billiken.
  13. All we have to do is go 10-1. Not to tough. Before we start thinking about 20 wins lets win these games on the road against tough but beatable competition. By the end of thsi trip we should know if SLU is truly tourney worthy.

  15. Bernie said in his bits column that along Gordon is considering playing at UMSL with Troy Slaten.
  16. >bonner made a cameo appearance at a billiken club meeting >last year, so i believe he is on good terms. that said, he >is out of the country playing these days so not sure what >assistance he can give the program recruiting or unofficial >coaching wise.] Bonner is playing in the States in the CBA for the Great Lakes Storm. He is averaging about 15 ppg and 10rbg and is fifth in the league in rebounding. His team is in next to last place but he is probably their best player.
  17. In all of the recent coverage about Saint Louis University's purchase of the Waring School, I believe several key points have been omitted or misunderstood regarding the purchase. I'd like to set the record straight. First, SLU did not need the Waring School to build our proposed new arena. When it became clear that acquiring the needed property for the arena in Grand Center would not be economically feasible, we identified university-owned property currently occupied by our baseball and softball fields as an alternative location for the arena. We were examining that site when we learned Waring School might be available. It has been reported widely that the purchase of Waring School saved the university $28 million. This simply isn't true. What we have said is that to locate the arena in Grand Center, we believe it would have cost $28 million to purchase the needed properties, relocate current occupants, do environmental remediation and complete demolition. That's before any construction. That sum - $28 million - was unreasonable and unacceptable, and we never would have spent it even though Grand Center was our preferred location for the arena, in large measure because of our civic commitment to the area. That is why we identified university-owned property for the arena. I want to clarify again that it was the St. Louis Public Schools that first approached us about acquiring Waring School. Last May, school district representatives told us they were interested in "swapping" the school for a parcel of property the university owns in Grand Center. This "offer" was made prior to William Roberti taking over as acting superintendent. Did SLU pay a fair price for the Waring School property? I believe paying more than the asking price and more than the value set in two separate, independent appraisals is more than fair. While some have questioned the asking price set by the school district, the two independent appraisals each valued the property at less than the $1.251 million SLU paid. Preparing the site for the new arena will cost the university several times that amount. Finally, Post-Dispatch columnist Bill McClellan raised the issue of whether the university should be providing services and assistance to the school district. The fact is, we already do. SLU's Department of Educational Studies provides tutoring, augments clinical services, provides counseling and diagnostic services for children with learning disabilities and their parents and has developed technology for ensuring school safety in a crisis. Our community relations division is actively involved in a host of projects that benefit local schools. Other areas of the university also provide free legal assistance, health screenings and summer camps for public school students. In sum, what SLU has done with respect to the Waring School property is express interest in a property that was offered to us, bid on that property when it was being sold and pay a price for the property that everyone on the School Board agreed was fair and voted to accept. We are excited about plans for our new arena, and we want to continue to work with the community on projects that benefit the entire St. Louis area.
  18. Milwaukee TV stations are reporting Diener is listed in "good condition" and may not have to stay in the hospital overnight. An AP report from the MU AD says he will have catscans and an MRI tomorrow. From these reports his injury does not seem major. Any Billiken Club news would be great.
  19. St Joes is No 1 in RPI in the country. I can't see a way that they can be denied a 1 seed at this point. St. Joes has good wins, plays in a fiarly good conference, is not just a flash in the pan team and has a POY candidate. If they don't lose more than 3 I think they are No 1 seed easily.
  20. Right now I am more concerned about CUSA's relative strength and how many teams CUSA can get in the tourney. If CUSA remains strong and gets 4 or 5 temas in line to go dancing the rest will take care of itself. SLU right now certainly is a top 4 team in the league.
  21. Road games are always tough but only Memphis really scares me right now. UAB and Charlotte just are not playing their best ball right now. UAB always gets us at their place, we will beat the streak this year.
  22. I believe only state schools have non alcohol policies. Since we are a private school we can do what we want.
  23. Ian is still very green but I saw a different player after he got the ball a few times yesterday. He does have some great moves around the basket and he made a fantastic pass while falling out of bounds underneath the basket. He of course fouls too much but then again I would have rather have him do that than be extremely soft. He did get beat on defense but he did play better after getting his first basket.
  24. Josh won't score 20 or get on the highlight reels but he is one of the best guards in CUSA easily and probably one of the best in the nation. I commend him on his hard work in improving his game, it is now paying off and may get us into the tourney.
