I agree. Thats why talk about Kalen Grimes is crazy. If that kid would want to come home I would welcome him with both arms open. My criticism of our staff is not that we haven't been able to recruit a power forward but we really haven't tried. Take some of those scholarships and throw them at a couple of kids. Will a reach work? I don't know, but you have to try because I do know that you can't win at a high level with a power forward the size of Luke Meyer.

Brad was very slow in adjusting to the Plummer mismatch. I like Luke but this 3 guard thing won't work all the time. I'm not sure Plummer scored on VN. It would be nice if VN would have made a couple of shots though.

The ref's ex sanzere were very good. Sanzere called a stupid carry and Dreja eary in the game, a couple of possesions later the black haired ref called a carry on Xavier. Good makeup. Pollard was good. I really don't know why he takes such a beating on thus board. He might have a little attitude, but most refs do.

Speaking of the powere forward position I just don't get why JJ doesn't play. There was absolutely nothing wrong with his play last night.With the exception of the Umass game when he was jacking up terrible shots I just don't see bad play. Why is his leash so short?

I'll give you a possible explanation for Polk. I don't believe this is true but Floyd Irons walks into Savvis late in the second half and takes a seat behind the Billiken bench. Brad sees him as he leaves the floor and looks at the score. Says to himself what do I have to lose lets give Polk a chance. Guest without getting involved in the Brad vs. Rich argument ,from years of reading your thoughtfull posts you have a "Father KNOWS Best Attitude". That is that the coaches always know what is best for their team. Sure they know more than we do but they are not always right,just as you and I are not always right in our proffessions. Sometimes someone from a distance can get a better picture of whats right or wrong then coaches living it on the practice floor every day. Take a JJ. I don't know what it's like dealing with this kid everyday but from a basketball sense most of us feel he makes a better team. I'm just not willing to agree that Brad ,or any coach is always right in how they deal with people. Second guessing is why a board like this exists. By the way coaching Kid's teams is very hard.

Several years ago there was a bill intoduced in the Kentucky State Legislature to force UofL and Kentucky to play. The schools agreed to play and the bill was withdrawn.

As you well know basketball is a game of spurts. They got their spurts because they hit wide open 3 point shots. Our three point total was skewered because in desperation time Kevin got hot from 3 point land. I agree with Ramsey last night when he said the game was lost on their spurt to start the game and the spurt at the end of the half. Both of those spurts were keyed by open 3 point shooting.

Bauman that was a good post. I agree with a lot of what you said. As far as game preparation I wonder who prepared last nights scouting report. The assistants trade off on different reports. It would be interesting to know who did last nights game vs. who did the Zags or GW. It was crazy to expect Ian to try to defend their center from shooting 3 pt. shots. How many did he hit??Maybe some of us make too much of the so called pack defense but we lost last nights game because we couldn't or wouldn't defend the three pointer.
