  1. I believe Roy's point of there being another conference in our future is very important. I believe the A-10 has a higher national profile then the MVC, if for no other reason then it's located in the East. If we can be successful in the A-10 our profile will increase. When the next new conferense is formed our chances of being include will be much greater if were coming out of the A-10. Once you join the MVC your there for life. At the MAC lunch Rick hinted at ideas he had for the future. Sorry MVC fans, you may have had some great years but it is still mid- major. I don't want to be mid-major.
  2. Seriously it was a lot of fun. The man can really talk. He would ramble on to a question, talking for 10 min. going in 5 different tangents. Points that I can remember. If he had to pick a starting lineup today{and he doesn't}-Polk at the 1-Kevin 2-Tommie3-Luke 4-Eberhardt5 or Eberhardt 4 Bryce 5 with Luke coming off the bench. He seemed to like the idea of Luke coming off the bench. Loves Tommie and Kevin. Will try to get them the most shots. Said we may try to sign 1 or 2 more players. Gave the impression that Paul E's scholarship would be a 1 year deal as he will work on studies for med school. Thinks we will have a regular season game with Memphis in 3 years{next year they come here for a scrimage} Hopes to be in the Maui Classic in a few years. Doesn't like A10 but it's where we are at. Would like to be in Big East. Has ideas about future he will share with Biondi. Stressed achedemics over and over. I'm sure Roy or others there will fill in. He sure can talk and talk and talk.
  3. I ran into Bernie in Chicago. He told me he had already had dinner with RM twice. I think he will definitely be on the bandwagon.
  4. Speaking of Governors,How about our kid governor? He appoints Rick Sullivan to run our failing school district. Sullivan appears to be doing a great job. Blunt pulls his nomination claiming he doesn't have the support of the local state senators. It's enough to make you pull your hair out.
  5. I heard numbers slightly different. We are suppose to be on some form of national TV.for 8 games. They are negotiating to do another 8 games locally. This is fine as long as the vast majority of these games are away games.
  6. Billiken Roy is flying the Virgin Island flag in honor of his favorite player-Jason Edwin.
  7. Good Post 72. If Brad had gotten this class we would all be jumping up and down. To have signed the players{and commitments ]that RM has gotten in 6 weeks is amazing. I for one am thrilled.
  8. It's all relative but Yhoo stock has done nothing but go down over the last eight years.
  9. I agree and disagree. Take DM. Brad's recruit. He will be given an opportunity to win playing time in the fall. If he doesn't win time I think RM would be the type of coach who would go to him and say why don't you go somewhere where you can play. Because he is not a Majerus recruit I think that playing time will be harder to win. Hopefully DM or anyone else who doesn't get time will move on. Hey I hope DM becomes a great player, a real sharp shooter, something he didn't show Brad.Majerus's turnover history suggests he is not opposed to telling players to leave or creating an enviroment where they want to leave.
  10. I'll go back to my original point,People will leave-People always leave.
  11. I think too many people on this board worry about how many scholarship offers are out there. People do and will leave. How many years have we had when someone didn't leave? I remember a few years ago when Louisville had 17 committed players. Trust RM. He knows what he's doimg.
  12. Hey Court you get up on the wrong side of the bed or what?
  13. I'm predicting a great career for Mr. Reed. His number should be 51.
  14. When was the last time we got somebody out of the KC area?
  15. This is based on no inside information but I would be surprised if we don't add one more player for next year.
  16. If you put either one of those guys on last years team they would have made it to the sweet 16.
  17. I get the impression that Danny's knee injury and surgery were very severe. I don't think he will be healthy and don't expect him to contribute.
  18. I agree with your point. I've said it before but one of Brad's problems was he was such a good family man. He would rather spend time with his family then sit in some gym watching 8th graders play.RM is a basketball junkie. He would rather talk basketball than do just about anything else. Coaching sports at a high level unfortunately takes away from a normal family life. Just ask any NFL coach.
  19. He may be able to get a package of loans and aid to go on his own. I think he's looking for Glenn D's scholarship. As far as SLU is concerned I don't want him.
  20. With some luck maybe we can pick up a pre-season tournament. If somebody drops out of a scheduled tournament RM's name might make for a good replacement.
  21. Back in the 70's boosters actually helped in the recruiting process. I was fresh out of graduate school with a decent job and was friendly with Roy's favorite coach Ron Ekker. We were recruiting Wallace Robinson at the time, and Ekker asked me to take him to lunch at Kemoll's. Mr. Cusumano was our host, and was just tremendous. He sat down with us, mostly talking about the great food we were being served. It was a great couple of hours. In the early days of the golf tournament there was a pre party the night before. You could always count on Kemoll's for bring several dishes to be served. A true gentleman and great Billiken fan.
  22. No I'm serious. I don't think we've worked hard enough or early enough for years.
  23. I'm thrilled that he's going to 8th grade all-star games.
