I read that VCU could be in play to get a spot in the B7. I found this somewhat surprising considering that one of the criteria mentioned by one of the Presidents of the B7 schools in evaluating future members was a similar "culture". I would assume "culture' would indicated a private institution with an emphasis on academics, consistent to what all the B7 schools are. Since VCU is a public university, which ranks #170 in the latest US News Report(which would be considered very low by most academics), they would not fit in the definition similar "culture".

Over last several days I have been visiting some of websites to see what is happening. The following inside sources have said that the 10th team will be (this assumes Xavier and Butler are the 8th and 9th teams): from the Marquette website - Dayton from the Georgetown website - Creighton from the Butler website - St. Louis I guess depending on what school you are from you decide which one is creditable. If any?

The best thing to do right now is for both parties to just walk away and forget about continuing the series for the time being. This game is not that big of deal for either team. SMS/MSU doesn't need SLU and SLU doesn't need MSU/SMS. The only thing we really have in common is we both are in the same state.
