  1. Unlikely the US Supreme Court takes this case for 4 reasons: 1. Sheer numbers. Every case which is appealed from a decision of the 50 highest courts in our 50 states can and often are appealed to the US Supreme Court. From the number of cases which are decided by our 50 states, the number of cases the US Supreme Court actually considers is rather small. 2. Case not over. Unless there is a significant legal issue in question, the case is not over, Stan the and his co-conspirator Roger Goodell/NFL can still win, so the odds of the US Supreme Court taking a case prior to resolution on the merits is also slim. No doubt the NFL has allies and will call in its favors, but to decide a case or to decide a case before the trial even happens is also somewhat rare. What's the irreparable harm a St. Louis jury can make which cannot be set aside later? 3. The US Supreme Court likes to take cases which involved a significant federal question (not seeing anything other the NFL and anti-trust laws which aren't supposed to apply - unless the NFL themselves are in violation. 4. Unequal rulings within the circuit. Missouri is in the 8th Circuit but the pending lawsuit is in Missouri's state court (not federal district court). I am not aware of any lawsuit in the 9th Circuit (California) or the 8th Circuit - but if there were, and if there differing rulings, then the US Supreme Court might want to decide.

  2. It’s always good for SLU and A-10 perspective to see what other leagues are doing and how they are doing it. The Big East released its conference schedules today. 17 games on over the air Fox Network 5 other games on over the air broadcasts, CBS. There will be more than 100 games on Fox Sports 1. All 90 regular season games will be televised. CBS Sports Network will also televise select games. 13 league games, 16 overall. All 10 teams played some form of postseason last season. 38th consecutive year conference tourney at Madison Square Garden. FS1 will carry all four home games on the annual series vs Big Ten. Big Ten Network and FS1 will carry the road games. Fox Sports will broadcast all 5 Big East home games in the challenge vs Big 12. Big East Title game on over air Fox 6th straight year. FS1 carries rest of tourney. Few remaining games not above will be carried by Fox Sports 2 or Fox Sports Regional (i.e. Midwest in Stl market) Games will be streamed on Fox Sports app and Fox Sports Go. Big East Digital Network will carry 225 live streamed events including all women’s games not carried by Fox Sports or CBS Sports Network.

  3. md Excellent post. Keep them coming and don't be put off by the others. They mean well but you will soon find many have a hard on for local players which skew their opinions. And even when an excellent poster like Roy says: you haven't seen Luke have you? - just respond that with the truth -- no, I haven't -- just like you Roy have not seen Gibson Jimerson play either. Funny little facts that you won't always find on this Board: Gibson Jimerson chose SLU over K-State. Yes. That's right. Gibson Jimerson chose Coach Ford and SLU over the great Bruce Weber and K-State. You know, Bruce Weber, the same guy who ran the Illini into the ground after receiving a gift of a well stocked program thanks to Bill Self. You know, the same guy who now has teamed up with fellow former SIUC head coach Chris Lowery (the guy who drove SIUC into the ground after being handed a successful and stocked program as well) and b/c they signed Kasubke they now own St. Louis recruiting? because why? Because they landed Sneed? And now Luke Kasubke? Please. Nothing against Luke Kasubke who is no doubt a fine player and fine kid, but Luke is coming right out of high school where Gibson has had a year of prep school under his belt and now will have a year of A10 ball under his belt. Very hard for a true freshman to overtake an experienced player. And Gibson is only a shooter? Not a complete player? Where's your facts and proof behind such a statement? Please. And our current Freshmen are not "bridge" players? This is a pure rebuilding year? Ford's recruiting momentum may be stalled? Really? Hey. Last time I checked, we, he had no Seniors (until transfer Weaver), we likely have only 2 open scholarships while losing only 1 player, and we have young depth in by signing Yuri, Hargrove, Jimerson, Bell and Diarra - no wonder it will be tough to sign a Freshman with such young depth as recruits want playing time -- not much immediate playing available. To me, French, Goodwin and Perkins will take us to the Tourney this year and/or next year and our bridge players are this year's Frosh who will take us to the Tourney thereafter. Sorry but with our 2 available scholarships, I would prefer landing another PG/combo guard and a forward with an eye of replacing French - not another Jimerson.

  4. Who is the worst team in the Big East? It might be open for debate but I vote DePaul. What's the size of their TV market (Chicago)? What does that alone mean for ad dollars and revenue? Villanova is an A+ team. Ditto Marquette, Xavier, and maybe Creighton. Georgetown and Seton Hall are potential A teams. Providence and Butler are B+. I'd give St.John's a B and Uconn is a B as well. Over in the A10, VCU is a B+ with Dayton and Davidson as B. SLU and Rhode Island might be C+ but the rest ...... 9 teams.... are all C or lower. There it is in a nutshell. TV is going to air competitively good games. The A10 has few marquee matchups. The Big East could have five a night.
