Billikenexpress
See the The Book on Romar has been closed, the Book on Brad nee....thread. We are no perennial powerhouse by any means. We've been to the NCAA Tourney a total of what, 6 times? That's 6 times! And our last win was nearly a decade ago. The last Sweet 16 was in 1957! And we talk it up like we are some hotshot BB team steeped in tradition? Hell, even the Salukis have been there 9 times and this year will make it 10 for GSakes! Some of you are living a dream. We are what we are. A small catholic college in a small metro area in a no-name conference comprised of like small schools. Period! If you wanted to talk smack about BB, then you should have gone to UCLA, or Duke. Now go study and get a life!

Billikenexpress
Why am I here? I like fantasy BB just as much as the next guy. I love reading all the "if only" statements. You are who you are. We have literally zero BB heritage to speak of. Our 6 appearances in the NCAA Tournament puts us into the same category with the Alcorn States, East Tennessee States, Middle Tennessees, and Eastern Kentucky's of the world. Now that is some pretty enviable company to be with. People here act as if we are some NC or Duke or something. For the love of G--! We are in the A10 Conference! The A10 is a one team conference! The A10 is ranked 15th in the RPI....right there with the always dangerous Horizon and Mid American conferences! Anyone following along? Is everyone majoring in Denial? For those who need a detailed explanation, here it is: Denial is a defense mechanism in which a person is faced with a fact that is to painful to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence. The theory of denial was first researched seriously by Anna Freud. She classified denial as a mechanism of the immature mind, because it conflicts with the ability to learn from and cope with reality. Taj79
.. kind of guy. Not to support the cries and call of the Express person here but the demonstrated "support" and fact presenting done by BLIKNS goes from the 1940's until the 1990's. That is 50 years with five things given as supporitng evidence. What's happening in those fifty years seems to be five high times with little in between? And Hughes again was 1997, which will be ten years ago at the end of this season. We have been a program mostly in limbo for the last 25 years. We ebbed out in the Ekker years; came back, plateaued and nose-dived in the Grawer years; achieved our greatest watermark during the Spoon years (through little if any of Spoon's doing); saw one aberation in the Romar reign and have been consistently predictable ever since.
