Majerus is toying with SLU. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm sure he's laughing his butt off watching everyone jump and hang on every word...especially the straw (Cusumano).

Cusumano Writes About SLU/Majerus

> > >SLU would fit right in the MVC and its 70% coaching turnover >the past two years. You make a great point. The MVC is not stagnant. Their coaches either win or get fired, or get to go on to marquee programs. A10 is like a government job: Yours for life unless you are a complete screw-up. -
Cusumano Writes About SLU/Majerus

As I stated earlier, that's coming from Cusumano....he's the straw that stirs the Majerus drink. It's just a normal SLUFAN leap of faith to take it to "they've offered majerus." Kind of like at least 50% of all quality players within 60 miles of STL have verballed sometime to SLU while the other 50% wanted to play ball for SLU but were never offered a scholly. SLU would best be served by staying in the A10. They have a much better chance of winning the conference than they would if they were in the MVC. I believe they would have placed 7th in the MVC last year. Can hardly wait until they hire joe nobody. -
> I think the A-10 is the place >to be. > > The A10 is a joke but I also think SLU should stay there. They deserve each other. Both are average at best.

Yeah, but SLU is far from a "big time" program. -
Interesting that a guy like Lowery would have an inkling of interest in coaching SLU in the A-10. Burwell, where are you? Clock_Tower Lowery would never, ever be interested in a SLU job and the A10. Might as well coach at Eastern Illinois and be in the OVC.
-
"I don't know if Lowery would leave Southern Illinois, but he has told people he'd be interested in coaching at SLU because he thinks SLU, with its market, could develop into a good program." What a crock of CR+P this is. You could only wish in your dreams. Hey, I heard, and from a reliable source, the Bill Self is interested in coaching at SLU because he thinks it would be an easy job.

I heard Coach K's dream job is to head up the SLU program.

I believe they have crossed that treshold this year. KU coach is quoted as saying SIU is now one of the elite programs in the nation. -
SIU Gets Another 3 Star

Better get a moving. Pretty soon the only things left will be 2 and 1 star, at best. A quality program one builds around this does not exhist. A couple day ago, someone on 590 said that he heard SLU is considering joining the OVC. Any truth to this? -

>Well they aren't landing 4 and 5 star guys. Well.....SLU isn't even landing Junior Varsity HS caliber players.
