Quickdraw
Metz, get your facts straight. The "Stowe" in Harris-Stowe is, indeed, Harriet Beecher Stowe. It is no stretch at all to consider the school to be Harriet Beecher Stowe State University, as the name was adopted to honor the 19th century abolitionist. Pistol
http://www.aaregistry.com/african_american..._Louis_positive The name comes from a merged institution from Stowe Teachers College (after Harriet Beecher Stowe) and Harris Teachers College (they don't provide the namesake for this one; it's just the name of the other school). billikenmetz
Doesn't really provide me with much, but hey, I'm going to watch President Bush's speech he gave to the NAACP on YouTube. "Gotta go!" -Martin Lawrence from pretty much every movie he's ever been in. http://www.worth1000.com/web/media/99084/m...njoliesmall.jpg
Pistol
Yeah, it's a weak article, but the history of HSSU isn't the hottest Google search on the net. The mystery remains, who was Harris?
StLouBlue
William Torrey Harris Superintendent of Instruction for St Louis Public Schools and also US Commissioner of Education. brianstl
Yeah, V it is all part of the man's plan to keep you, flojo, and dj down. I know for a fact the parts of Afton and Glendale still dont have power, doesn't get more white than those areas. But, it is all the man trying to stick it you. Has nothing to do with the fact it was the worst storm to hit the area in years. Then it was followed up two days later by another strong storm. You are starting to sound like a very sad, sad person. LoveforVouk
I'm actually best friends with the Ameren CEO, Gary Rainwater. I called him up a few days ago and told him to make sure that VTIME and all people of African descent had no power until this Thursday. I guess I have been found out. Maybe Floyd Irons or D. Johnson can back me and protest something.
VTIME
That's quite a connection you got there. Tell him to turn on Florissant Road. Wednesday thru Tuesday with no power.
Pistol
My parents and their neighbors in a predominantly white neighborhood in south city had no power until yesterday. It's not a racial thing, V.

brianstl
V you wrote: "Thanks for posting. I would've posted days ago, but my power is still out. I see you guys isn't. What a surprise. It's 5 days and counting." After your post the last couple weeks regarding the flojo situation it is obvious you meant us white guys. It was pointed out that many white nieghborhoods were with out power. You didn't retract are correct your comments. One of the guys working crazy hours for the "racist" power company died yesterday. He was working his ass to restore people's power. Maybe you could just say a prayer for him, his racist family and co-workers. V, get the facts next time before you post something. You make yourself look like an ass on a everyday basis when you don't.
VTIME
What's all this Flojo stuff? I didnt say anything about race. Its more of a class and need thing than anything. Green is the only color I may have made a reference to.
