ESTLALUMNI
Did anybody hear that Ian entered the draft? He didnt hire an agent,so he can still come back next year.
Schasz
Wonder if you can share the link where you saw this story...I checked both the SLU and St. Louis P-D online sites and did not find any information that would substantiate this news. slu72
Where did you get this from? I don't think IV would be a first or possibly even second rounder at this stage. Course if he didn't hire an agent, then no problem, if he's just testing the waters.
Sheltiedave
No one else has heard this. Could you be so kind as to cite the source of your rumour? Not being snide, but we have had enough bs re Tommie failing all his classes, etc etc etc. Cited sources do lend a touch of credibility. ACE
Just curious. Why did you edit your original post. It sounds like you might have a scoop.
TDELL
I heard that also, and its true, one of the coaches told me,that Ian was just seeing where he stands in the draft.
JMM28
>Did anybody hear that Ian entered the draft? He didnt hire an >agent,so he can still come back next year. I had heard this rumor floating around campus before break. You can only enter early for the draft once before your last year. So with a lot of the younger bigs (Noah, OBryant, etc.) maybe not going, Ian wanted to see where he would stand in an incredibly weak draft. No harm no foul. He wouldn't be drafted above 45. No guaranteed money vs. a starting spot and a free degree. I think he'll choose the degree.
Basketbill
test the waters, get some extra instruction and compete against top talent at some of the pre-draft camps.
slu72
it does. I just went to two NBA draft sites for 2006 and 2007. IV not listed for either '06 and not listed in top 100 for 2007 possibilities.
kshoe
but in the 2007 draft they have him going in the middle of the 2nd round. http://www.nbadraft.net/index.asp?content=mock2007
billikenmetz
I just got off the phone with a high-ranking NBA official in New York who said Ian has not declared himself eligable for the NBA draft. If you want to talk to someone in the NBA offices, call 212-407-8000 and ask for David. He should be in the office Tuesday morning.
