moytoy12
What about the Nevada kid...fuh-zee-kiss...sounds foreign to me. I must admit, I agree with Roy re: Ian. Again, i rarely get to see games on TV being in Denver, but for some reason I saw a couple of games during Ian's freshman year. I thought he was a lumbering galoot. Hard work sure shed that distinction. Good for Ian, from galoot to possible NBA'er.

Better late than never (although not an NBA potential yet--senior year would be his defining moment)... my point is that we've got lots of untapped potentials from around the globe where we could get unknown but formidable players.. courtside
Is the Fazekas thing a joke? Fazekas is from Colorado...his Hungarian grandfather has a well documented story of escaping a Soviet Prison by setting himself on fire. And he eventually made it to the U.S.
SShoe
JP Batista (Gonzaga) is international, Brazil I think. Northwestern has a star from somewhere, not sure of his name or where he's from.
Basketbill
we have two Drejaj's from Jersey!
moytoy12
It wasn't a joke, for some reason that kid's name popped into my head. I don't profess to be a basketball wiz (unlike my soccer knowledge...right courtside? haha). Quite frankly, i haven't been in colorado long enough to know that he was from here. I will say that setting oneself on fire does sound foreign though.
The Wiz
According to the NCAA, there are 402 international players on Div I teams. In the A-10, two notables besides Ian are Bonsu(England @GW)and Lasme(Gabon @ UMass)
Taj79
... as having a basically international cast. Somone mentioned Bonsu ... I also believe that Pinnock is a foreigner and I thought I heard they had more. They do .. one from the Ukraine and one from Central Africa. Kounjda is from Africa an dhe led the Colonials last night in scoring in beating La Salle.

Box and Won
Seems like they always have had foreign-born players, even going back to the Mike Jarvis days when they had Yinka Dare.
Box and Won
The guy you're thinking of from NU is Vedran Vukusic from Croatia - good player. Up until this year, they also had another foreign-born player, Tony Parker's brother, T.J.
