pakapablo
Former SLU and current Utah Jazz assistant coach is listed as 7/1 odds to become the next Jazz head coach. Alex Jensen 7/1 Current Jazz lead assistant coach Former G-League Coach of the Year with the Canton Charge in 2013 Started for the University of Utah under Rick Majerus during the team’s 1998 title-game run Four seasons on the SLU Billiken's staff, including three as an assistant coach, from 2007-11 Jensen is highly regarded around the league as an assistant coach, starting his Jazz tenure under Ty Corbin before being adopted by Snyder for his entire eight-year run. Jensen moved his way up, in large part to his solid Xs and Os knowledge. He also has a very tight relationship with All-NBA center Rudy Gobert, which may work with him — or against him, if Gobert were to be traded. https://www.sltrib.com/sports/jazz/2022/06/07/whos-next-get-know/
slu72
As I understood it Jensen was a good teacher and X’s and O’s guy for Rick, but he hated recruiting which is 75% of the college job. Good for him. The NBA sounds like the perfect fit for Alex. MusicCityBilliken likes this

Alex might be one those guys that are survivors, not Steve Kerr, Greg Popovich or Phil Jackson type, more like a Budenholzer or Spoelstra type. I think there is job security but not necessarily at the head coach level. You get fired and you become somebodies assistant or a scout. How long did Ron Ekker kick around. Average NBA coaches pay around $5mil. The super star coaches, Pops, Kerr, Nash make around the 10mil mark. Average asst coach maybe in the $100,000 range. Didn't Bonner and Sloan both work for the Knicks at one time?

He's probably the best coach all around in the league. While HC may not have a ton of job security, once you are HC you almost always get a chance to HC again, sometimes twice or three times. And a former HC as an assistant almost always makes 500k at a minimum.
