bbtds
Have you ever been to Valparaiso, Indiana, sir? You guys love to read my stuff so here goes. Which part? The university campus on the southeast side of Valparaiso with the Chapel of the Resurrection in the middle along US Highway 30? http://www.valpo.edu/chapel/ http://www.valpo.edu/facilities/chapel/assets/images/labyrinth1.jpg https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQtA6TFbX1XVVG_Q9HErt5zymxgFQPU4OlTcavtTWDLw-uaCTax3g http://www.valpo.edu/student/ago/reddel02.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3115/2580193163_8655eddb70.jpg http://www.1stteamrealestate.net/blogs/jeff__grace_safrin/archive/2012/02/11/1236685.aspx http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTKKZkp1k8uVyKiwy9SV_T5i63rJUnfyJGnwBge1nAvtPMHeB5n http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&docid=h_Vl_rPrSfYZFM&tbnid=JBev9ooh5enlKM:&ved=0CAgQjRwwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dobsonorgan.com%2Fhtml%2Finstruments%2Fresto_rebuild%2Fvalparaiso.html&ei=kSFvUe66CJDiyAGtxYHQBw&psig=AFQjCNE5q57lQDQlSUsA5oEBTgihP422rg&ust=1366323985184886 http://www.valpoathletics.com/media/miscellaneous/2008-09%20HallofFameReleasePhotos/1998%20MBB%20Team.jpg You might have seen those guys during an Axe commercial about an astronaut during the Big Dance. The guy who threw the inbounds pass is Jamie Sykes, third from right in 2nd row, I'm not sure which one of the Jenkins twins is which but Bill Jenkins, who caught the pass at mid-court, was his name. The twins are black and in the middle. Bryce is third from left in first row and Scott Drew is second from the right in the first row. I think you know who Homer is. The Valparaiso salute to hometown entrepreneur, Orville Redenbacher, the Valpo Popcorn Festival? http://www.inportercounty.org/Data/Misc/PopcornFestival-1979.pdf Secret: Gary Redenbacher, Orville's grandson, changed his name from Chester to Redenbacher just to make a commercial with his maternal grandfather in the 1980's. Yes, I'll say it even today, Gary Chester Redenbacher was not the brightest light bulb on the tree. http://www.southshorecva.com/includes/calendar-of-events/Valparaiso-Popcorn-Festival/4874/ http://posttrib.suntimes.com/photos/galleries/index.html?story=15023009 https://www.google.com/search?q=Orville+Redenbacher+in+the+Valparaiso+Popcorn+festival+parade&sa=N&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ei=pxxvUcbhA9D_yQGLz4CYAw&ved=0CF8QsAQ4Cg&biw=1024&bih=653 ConAgra still runs a plant in Valpo but most of the Redenbacher/Chester family is gone. Okay, the one above is Valparaiso, Chile (Chi-Chi-Chi Le-Le-Le) during Carneval. Valpo's real roots.

ACE
You know I was thinking about taking the girlfriend on a nice little weekend getaway this summer. I don't want to go to any big cities, just looking for maybe a hidden gem or some small town. I was thinking about taking a drive over to Indiana. Anybody have some good recommendations on sites to see in the Hoosier state?

billiken_roy
i was touring southern indiana last weekend to watch my daughter play college D3 softball. started in terre haute Friday, indy then ended in Hanover Indiana. i will say the business development along the I-65 corridor is nothing short of fantastic (the state of indiana is doing something right). now besides that, i wouldnt consider anything stop wise a useful vacation destination (hanover gave me the impression of something between a hatfield and mccoy battlesite to maybe a prime location to shoot a deliverance sequel). Would i want to live in Indiana? possibly since it appears they have more of a clue about running a state and maintaining an economy than either Illinois or Missouri. would i want to blow vacation time in Indiana. NO

NO Mitch Daniels did a fantastic job, Roy. You've got that right. I trust Mike Pence will carry the torch.
