  1. Don’t forget Perkins has been know to hit the occasional 3 too. (I’m not sure if his omission was a mistake, or you were implying that his shooting is a given. Either way, just throwing his name into the hat too.)
  2. Thanks, as always, Pistol! Out of curiosity, how do these signing periods work? The NCAA/school don’t send out the actual forms for them to sign until the signing period opens? Hypothetically (and I fully understand this is probably an impossibly unlikely scenario), what would the punishment be if a kid got ahold 1 of the NLI forms (online I’m assuming), and just said, “F the signing period, I’m signing RIGHT NOW!” (I don’t know why this student-athlete would be so impatient to not wait until the signing period opens, but it’s meant to be hypothetical, not realistic). Would it just not be official until the period opens. Would the player receive a stern talking to from the NCAA? Would they have to endure a 24-hour “Gigli in IMAX” marathon? As I said before, I’m restless without sports lol.
  3. Hey guys, I know it’s late (I’m restless and can’t sleep), I’m going to @Pistol but obviously anyone feel free to respond, when is the spring signing period for Andre to sign? Will all the Coronavirus stuff change those dates at all? Just wondering.
  4. I think he’s referring to the 6 players the A10 conference named as 1st team, a separate distinction.
  5. BRoy, since you mentioned Lisch, when I was in middle school, I was playing CYC ball all over the metro area year round. We were a pretty good team and won a lot of games. None of us played in college (mostly because none of us grew taller than 6’2 lol). But there was 1 time, we were playing in a tournament and Lisch was on 1 of the teams. He was playing up 2 years and he ABSOLUTELY TORCHED US! We played against and beat Blake Ahern teams several times, but Kevin Lisch was the best player I ever played against, and it wasn’t even close. He was incredible!
  6. 1 of the worst officiated games I’ve ever witnessed. There should be an FBI investigation into who paid off those refs. Isn’t gaming fixing a federal offense?
  7. Absolutely, I don’t know how he does it. Much appreciated @Pistol!
  8. I’ve got Perkins scoring 25, the double-double twins do what they do, we win by 9!
  9. Ummmm...HOLY CRAP!!!! If we can get everyone healthy next year, and we’re running French, J-Good, Yuri, Perk, Locomotive, TJ, Jacobs, Gibson, and Thatch, plus Strickland and the Big Swede (and I still think Diarra might end up being a player), how do you guard us next year? Seriously? You can’t just pack it in. But if you try to shadow our snipers, J-Good and Has and Locomotive will eat you alive inside. And we’re such an elite offensive rebounding team, we’re gonna get tons of 2nd chance opportunities. I’m not embarrassed to say that I have a half-chub just picturing it my mind!
  10. I’m totally ignorant here, so just asking, does this increase our chances of picking up that kid from Vashon now? Does this have any impact on Russell? None at all? Just curious.
  11. To add to my list, and maybe this is a bit of recency bias, but that alley oop Yuri threw to Hargrove in the Bonnies game this year. From where I was sitting in the crowd, my reactions went from “Who’s he throwing it to?” to “ok, there’s TJ” to “ohmigod, the pass is too high, it’s gonna go over his head” to “OH MY GOD, DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN?!?!?”
  12. I’ve watched that Yuri highlight video a few times now, and I realized it’s hard to fully appreciate how brilliant he is in real time, even watching on TV, because you move onto the next play a lot of times. But he’s amazing. It’s scary to think that we have him for 3 more years and he’s only gonna get better (and healthier). #Yurimania
  13. I have a good friend who is a big K-State guy, and I remember talking with him before the season and he seemed to understand that this was gonna be a sort of “tweener” year for K-State, with their 2 best players graduating. That’s not to say, necessarily, that all of their fans are as understanding as he is, or that he’s not back on the hot seat (especially if the don’t improve next year), but I think most fans realized ‘19-‘20 was gonna be a rebuilding/reloading year. But that’s just my impression in talking with my friend, so an educated guess.
  14. Agreed, but I don’t think Has OR Goodwin are THAT far off. They’re both absolute warriors and athletic freaks. They both could hang on the defensive/rebounding end. For J-Good, he has to develop a 3-point shot. These days, it’s damn near impossible for a guard to play in the league and not consistently hit 3’s, and especially not a guard that’s 6’3. Has has to find some sort of jump shot. In the League, every team has multiple 7-footers he’s gonna gave to shoot over. But I see no reason why they shouldn’t declare and see how scouts evaluate them. Add Perkins to the mix too. His game translates to the league at least as well as Has or J-Good. But all 3 will be back next year, if for no other reason than another year of work gives them their best chance to stick in the NBA.
  15. 1) I got to be a ball boy for 1 game during Larry’s season. Throwing up shots at halftime and during commercial breaks on the same hoops Larry Hughes just shot on was like the coolest experience ever for a middle school kid. 2) Watching the A10 Championship last year. I was on vacation down in Florida, visiting my uncle. The Bonnies game was on my Dad’s birthday, my birthday was 2 days before (the 15th), so it was like a birthday present for both of us. 3) The game at Kiel/Savvis/Scottrade/Enterprise when Arizona was #1 in the country. I think it was my freshman year at SLU, maybe sophomore, my whole group of friends went to most games because a girl in our group was on the dance team. We get to the garage just planning on buying tickets and a scalper comes up to us in the garage trying to sell tickets. We told him we only had like $5 (mostly just trying to get him to leave us alone), and he sold the tickets to us for $5 each. They were THIRD ROW! We hit that buzzer beater, but his foot was on the line. I’ll never forget that game til the day I die. 4) The Majerus years, just the whole period. Awesome. 5) (non-basketball memory) I was a freshman when Vedad was playing soccer for SLU. My buddy Bob and I were the only big soccer fans in our group of friends, but we went to a bunch of games. I remember Bob screaming at the refs and the refs screaming back that he didn’t know what he was talking about. Bob screamed back, “you’re full of $h!t, I used to refs kids soccer!” Good times.
  16. My feelings 100%! I love this team as is. If we went into November with our current roster, I would be content. But right now, we have no games to watch, so I don’t think a little speculation/hope/greediness is going to hurt anybody. Houston and Russell would be a hell of a lot of fun.
  17. I think Russell coming to SLU would require a guard leaving. I won’t speculate on how realistic that is, or who could or would leave in order for that to happen. But I just can’t see him committing to SLU unless another guard transfers. It would make no sense otherwise.
  18. I agree with pretty much everything everyone has said about Russell. The kid can obviously shoot it. But what impressed me most, for a smaller kid, was his creativity and body control when driving inside. He can finish with the floater, but can also finish with contact. You can never have too many natural scorers. I’m interested to see how this plays out.
  19. Or a matter of minutes...depending on the stamina of the recruit...sorry, I just couldn’t help myself. I’ll see myself out.
  20. I asked about this earlier in the season. I think 05 (correct me if I’m wrong 05) said it was up briefly on YouTube, but was taken down for copyright reasons. I even went as far as to email CBS Sports to see if I could purchase a copy, but never got a response. If anyone has any ideas, I’d love to hear them as well.
