I could see that too, but if he is transferring for a shot at a large role and academics, I don't think NU is where he would find it necessarily.

I'm interested to see where MR ends up. If I remember correctly he was looking at a couple Ivy League schools out of Whitney Young. It is a shame someone with his work effort didnt work out, but this isn't totally surprising. Oh how things change from the start of the season.

Yes he is from Memphis. It just is interesting that two guys who some believe might transfer are with the guy who already is transferring.

DR, MY, and MR appear to all be in Memphis right now. They are all fairly close for what it is worth. Could just be reading between the lines.

In regards to Jolly this comes from my roommate. He said Jolly's sister played tennis at SLU and at least last season was a graduate assistant here. He supposedly likes the school quite a bit and his family has a good impression based on his sister. I don't think he would willingly request a transfer, it would be him being run off from what I know.

If Ford does well enough with us for UK to decide he inherits the program, that is perfectly fine with me. Cal probably isn't going anywhere until the right NBA job opens up or he chooses to retire. Ford should be here a while if that is the place he is ultimately eyeing.

Ouch hope MC recovers quickly. While he showed toughness battling through it, you have to wonder if it was worth it in a largely lost season. Hopefully nothing lingers and he can be a valuable senior leader next season.

ISU would be a good landing spot. His dad was a decent player there, easier academics, and closer to home.

MY has a ton of talent, and it is a shame it didn't work for him at SLU. But for a kid who had his academic struggles in high school, as well as some struggles on the court this year, it isn't entirely surprising to see him look for a better personal opportunity. Best wishes MY!

So many aspects of his speak is geared towards making the program attractive for future players. If executed properly, this is the guy who can rebuild the image.

Without a doubt it will be hard, as Chosen One says, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have a fresh start. Ford's recruiting prowess is the thing that could quickly endear him to the fan base. Here's hoping he can land the guy we seemed to have botched.

Well the theory of the paperwork being on Pestello's desk is interesting except he is currently on the main campus since of that topping off ceremony yesterday at the dorm. Doubt it would take two weeks.

So essentially, if I have this correct, SLU is acquiring a coach who is owed 2.4 million by his previous institution. OSU is on the hook for the balance between his new salary and that 2.4 million. That is his maximum earning potential. I could say the dumb thing and imply slu went cheap on this hire, but until we know if he got the job we won't know financials.

If the best the search firm could do was get us Travis Ford and not wait 2 days for Drew, it was a waste of money.

Spin zone time. Restocking could mean preparing for a party, a party that don't stop, meaning pitbull, meaning good hire. Pretty much solved it. Drew to SLU confirmed.

While we don't know yet if Ford is actually coach, I have come to a condition under which I am okay with the hire. If Ford can go and get Goodwin and another Althoff player (talented of course) then I will be okay with the hire in the short run. If not, then this move is one that will take lots of winning for me to digest.
